Prejudice is one of the world’s greatest struggles. It does not only hold society back, but is harmful to the people who do good .In Harper Lee’s book To Kill A Mockingbird, Scout and Jem live through and witness prejudice and racism in the small town of Maycomb. They see someone wrongly accused of a crime because of his race. Scout and Jem also witness and take part in prejudice against a man no one knows anything about. In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee uses characterization to show the negative effects of prejudice and racism.
On the morning of Saturday, October 31st, we had cheer practice. Ms. Perez had brought up the idea of captains for this year's cheer team. All of us thought it was a good idea. So she decided that we would vote today. We were all kind of surprised we were doing it right here and right now. We got to thinking about it and we decided it was smart to do it now because then it would be easier just to get it done and over with.

My Black heels sunk into the turf as I walked down center field, a crowd of 6,000 overflowed the aluminum bleachers towering before me. Pungent flowers of bright blue and gold are cradled in my arms, and an itchy vibrant blue sash is placed over my head. “Homecoming Princess 2013” is scrawled across in elegant cursive that shimmered beneath the blinding stadium lights. “Sophomore princess, Brianna Moynihan” echoed over the speakers; every teenage girl’s dream had become my reality.
It's been a spectacular ten years here at the school of St. Mary’s. I remember my first day of pre-school. As I walked in the PGC with my size 2 gym shoes and my button down red shirt, I had no clue what was waiting for me here at the school of St. Mary’s. All the awesome memories I would make such as playing soccer every day at recess, first communion in my suit and tie with all my friends, Mr. D playing basketball with us at recess, Mr. Head making awesome plays in the 8th grade volleyball game, and also all the other amazing memories St. Mary's gave to me that I'll never forget.

You may know Braedyn from seeing her support our football team or being a part of an OVAC worthy performance. As one of your Homecoming Princesses, she is excited to represent her class among with friends who were also nominated. Over the years, Braedyn has taken many classes at Linsly. However, the one that rises above them all is Mr. Felt’s Junior english class. On the other hand, as of now Pysch is her favorite class. Like many of us, Braedyn is a fan of chocolate chip pizza and Chipotle tacos. Even though the year is far from over, Braedyn says, “The thing I'm most looking forward to after high school is going to college and meeting new people.”
When I do wake up, and I do go to school, however, I find myself staring at the walls as I walk to my first class, as if transfixed by the sudden transformation of antiquated green lockers to glass barriers that safeguard the fifty- or hundred-odd trophies from the caustic, slipshod touch of a teenager’s dirty hand. And what do these golden accolades, of which the school has felt the need to shield from harm’s way, commemorate? Plaque after plaque, medal after medal, trophy after trophy, venerate the sweepstakes won by the varsity orchestra for this many years, or the district football championship won by the junior varsity team in so-and-so year, or even an entire glass case dedicated to the school’s current pom squad, with each of the members’ photos printed in large copies. If you look hard enough, you might find a small section of these trophy cases dedicated to the academic decathlon team, or, even harder, the math and science UIL team. My school, the most celebrated in town for its excellent curriculum, concentrates more heavily on athletics and the fine arts than it does education, the entity that
I’m Sarah Stutzman and this is the story of my life. I am twelve years old, and quite tall. I’ve lived in Indiana my whole life, so I am blessed enough to experience the season changes. In addition to viewing all the season changes, me and my family visit new places on vacation as much as possible. Artistic; a term that strongly represents me. I proudly enjoy painting nature, such as open fields, lakes, sunsets, fall, streams, and so forth. In the meantime, I transport my art supplies to a massive oak tree in the cattle field that overlooks the lake, and perch on the highest branch to paint the everlasting meadow. Ironically, art isn’t my only profession, I also participate in sports and clubs, such as 4H, basketball, track, volleyball,
Hermilo is a twenty year old at Auroras Community College in Aurora, Colorado. If you saw him on campus it would be hard to try and guess what he does in his free time. In 2011 he had just started his high school life, unknowing of what his future would look like, he would spend most of his time doing what every high schooler likes to do, playing games, hanging out with his friends. He had no specific hobby that would describe him. Until 2014 when was able to buy his first car. Shortly after buying a Subaru, 2004. His life made a 180 turn, that would mark his identity for the rest of his life. A hobby can turn into something bigger than a time killer, it can turn out to be your reason of living.
