American Sniper the Movie A worthy movie about a person’s life, especially one that involves war has to be convincing. Therefore, the actor has to be compelling in portraying the authenticity of the character, in addition to the scenes being true to the actual event, place and time. More importantly, the story is essential as a true drama is one classified as the hero dying or making you feel sad. I saw American Sniper as soon as it came out and could was amazed. The criteria for an unforgettable movie is the actors, the story, themes, box office sales. Not to mention, how the movie affects the audience is what raises the bar on this movie. The war against the Taliban in Iraq during that time caused unprecedented misery, not to mention the impact on the United States, especially military families who lost loved ones. First, not only does it show the strain on the entire family and how it affects him when he has to leave his wife alone to raise a family, but also addresses the stress and tests the limits of marriage. Secondly, the reality of the difficulties to separate emotions from war and family. He tries to commit to both a family and his team, wanting to forget war and return home. In the scene where Taya is upset and suffering from emotional exhaustion, she reminds him where his priority should be, however he doesn’t see it that way. Again, going back to what his father instilled in him as a child, he feels that he has to protect and finish what he starts. This is seen at the end when he finally kills the sniper and he calls home and tells his wife, he is ready to come home (American Sniper).He has finished his commitment and can now be with his family. The war and family part were right on par, however not much elaboration went into the political motivation side of this controversial
