American Nazi Party and United Klans of America
After looking into two hate groups the American Nazi Party and United Klans of America, it was noticeable that the two groups racial hatred stemmed from the fear of the well-being of their own race. Both groups fear that United States is in jeopardy of becoming a racially mixed country rather than a white one. They view many minorities coming into the country and they fear that these people will replace them. This is the reason they have distress over white people losing their jobs to minorities and the government having policies that favor minorities. It is interesting, both groups claim to not be racist, but they voice opinions stating that each race should have their own separate country. Compared to the United Klans of America, the American Nazi Party does not advocate for violence and looks to use more political tools to get their point across. On the other hand, the United Klans of America claims they will not hesitate to use violence. After researching these two groups, there is no doubt that both groups possess strong racial hatred to a wide variety of minorities groups that include Jews, blacks, Muslims, Hispanics, and homosexuals.
The motto of the American Nazi Party is, “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White children.” (“American Nazi Party”, 2015). They refer to themselves as a Political-Educational Association dedicated to these 14 words. These ideals were instilled into them by their
The kkk ( ku Klux Klan ) formed after the civil war because the KKK Did not want african americans to have civil rights. The kkk formed In 1866 In pulaski tennessee . That extended into almost every southern state in 1870 .They they organized their group after the
Social change always creates a spark of controversy, and new attitudes will always have opposition. The Ku Klux Klan, which had died out in the 1870s, rose again to combat the turmoil that the nation was experiencing during World War I. The group came out resilient and often deadly, and members had influence in the United States that had not been witnessed before. Therefore, the second Ku Klux Klan that emerged during World War I was much more powerful than its former manifestation. The Klan arose because of social changes such as the increasing amount of immigrants, the movie The Birth of a Nation, and the highly-publicized murder of Mary Phagan. The combative nature of World War I triggered a rise in the feeling of nationalism among
During Reconstruction there were many failures recorded in this time period, such as the Ku Klux Klan. The KKK established in 1866 after blacks were given free equality in the United States. The members of the KKK would stretch all throughout the southern states and threaten Jews, Catholics, blacks, and republicans. The klan has caused over a thousand deaths. When going around and hitting every town the klan would meet up and hold underground meetings. They unfortunately could not weaken the political powers of the southerners and anyone in that matter. This group of people would do terrible things to innocent people.
From this document, it is clear that although after the Civil War the slavery had been abolished, people in the south still wanted to resurrect the “Old South”, and thus during the Reconstruction Era, the Ku Klux Klan was founded by a Confederate general and became known as the “invisible empire of the South” in which members represented the ghost of the Confederate dead returning to terrorize African Americans. We can see that to really achieve the union throughout the nation and eradicate racism, the U.S. still had a long way to go.
Since the election of Donald Trump, the country seems to be in a state of division. Protests against the president’s executive orders and movements like Black Lives Matter has caused many hate groups to make a reappearance into the main-stream media. White supremacist, white nationalists, and alt-right leaders are speaking their minds about the perceived discrimination against whites. These types of white advocacy groups have gone through an evolution since the times of the Ku Klux Klan and have created new techniques for recruiting members. These units can be a type of love/hate relationship, and once people have joined, they find it very difficult to leave. But hate can be overcome; through education, tolerance training, and even counter-protesting. Because of feelings of discontent, fear in the loss of white power, and a lack of experience with groups outside of their race, America is seeing a dangerous and unfortunate rise in these types of hate groups.
There are some people in America that think hate crimes against minorities are not a problem. They think hate crimes and racism against white people is the real threat. These groups of people are called White supremacist. White supremacy is the idea that white people are superior to other races and that the white race is facing the danger of extinction. There is five different groups of white supremacist: Neo-Nazis, racist skinheads, “traditional” white supremacist, Christian identity, and white supremacist prison gangs. Of the five, Neo-Nazis, “traditional” white supremacist, and the white supremacist prison gangs are the most known to the media/public. Neo-Nazis considered themselves as a “political organization.” They’re goal is to continue
Thesis: Arising from the growing development for the equality of African-American peoples in the United States, those who continued to support the alt-right became increasingly aware of their decreasing racial superiority, effectively resulting in their insecurity becoming the basis for the formulation of the Ku Klux Klan, violently targeting the increasingly powerful minorities.
Created by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), COINTELPRO, a secret program to undermine the popular increase which swept the country during the 1960s. Though the name stands for "Counterintelligence Program," the targets were not enemy spies but political groups. The FBI’s main objective was to eliminate "radical" political opposition inside the US such as the Ku Klux Klan(KKK) and The Black Panther Party(BPP). When they failed at repressing these groups using traditional modes such as exposure, blatant harassment, and prosecution for political crimes, the Bureau took the law into its own hands and secretly used fraud and force to sabotage legal political activity. Its methods ranged far beyond just surveillance, and amounted to a
In the 1920s the second Ku Klux Klan was reborn. The first one originated in Tennessee shortly after the civil war. The Ku Klux Klan was a secret society that was dedicated to white supremacy in the United States. Novels such as “the Leopard’s Spots” and “The Clansman” written by Thomas Dixon were encouraging the values of the Klan. William J. Simmons established the new KKK. He made the secret group only available to white American-born Protestant men. He also made the white hooded outfits, the ritual for the secret order, and even got an official charter from the state of Georgia. Thanksgiving evening in 1915 Simmons and sixteen of his members lit a cross on fire and proclaimed the rebirth of the secret society. The second generation of the
The Ku Klux Klan originated in the South and spread across the nation; during the early twentieth century, the KKK had approximately four million members throughout the country. Their members occupied many political influences in some states such as Oregon, Indiana, and Colorado. In the summer of 1868, Klan achieved part of their goal which was to defeat Southern Blacks; but didn’t succeed that well in carrying out their social aim during the reconstruction era, however; they later spread throughout Georgia. Then again, a Georgia Republican organizer was killed on March 31st, 1868; and because of his death, KKK organized terrorist crime became noticeable; to the extent that their violent actions spread across Georgia’s Black Belt, and the state
Racist hate groups have been around the Unites States for such a long time, the SPLC break down groups by its own category. There are about 99 neo-Natiz group, 130 Ku Klux Klan, 43 neo-Confederate group and 78 racist skinhead group. Those are several other groups that are classified in general hate groups. In addition, the total number of hate groups in the United States went through 17% in 2016 according to SPLC research. Since election day, white supremacists have held a dozen rallies across the Unites States. Moreover, small group unite with other members from white nationalist groups, who often come together of the alt-right. These ralley become very violent that are met by groups of counter protester and police. In addition, things become
With a meeting of friends on Christmas Eve a fraternity mockery that would later murder and persecute hundreds of thousands of minorities was formed. These men were retired confederate soldiers who were tired of northern carpetbaggers and African Americans disturbing their way of life. On December 24, 1865 the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was formed in the small town of Pulaski, Tennessee to fight for their rights. There have been many hate groups around the world; however, the Ku Klux Klan is one that has impacted the lives and lifestyles of Americans by promoting white supremacy, segregation, and treating minorities unjustifiably.
The KKK is a group against blacks, Catholics, and Jews. The name KKK comes from Kuklos which is the greek word for circle. They wear white robes and white hats. They also call themselves “grand wizard” to show status. The klan did an act of terrorism like, killing and burning homes. The klan became illegal because of The Klan and Enforcement Act put in end to it.
The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) came into being in 1865 and was widespread in the southern states of the USA. It was founded by former Confederate veterans in Pulaski, Tennessee. It was a movement, formed after the civil war of America, to oppress the Republican Party’s policies of reconstruction. Few years after its formation, the movement engaged in war, fear and hatred in the war-ravaged south. The group’s activities during this period have had adverse effects on the American society that still haunt them to date (Southern Poverty Law Centre, 2011).
One of the logical response of Americans toward the coming of immigrants is making a group named KKK. The KKK was a pro nativist group created by the Anglo-Saxons to oppose the diversity of cultures coming from the non-native (Kennedy, Cohen and Bailey, 2012). Although this group existed way back around 1850s, it started to make its appearance again during the “roaring 20s” (Kennedy, Cohen and Bailey, 2012). The KKK played an important role in shaping the American culture, because it made some Americans to be racist toward people that come from different racial background. Not stating that all white Americans are racist, but stating that racism still do exist in America and it’s because of nativism (Salis, 2015). The character and KKK related
