A day in the life as a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) can have its ups and its downs. As a CNA you can work in a couple different areas of the nursing field, you have options of where you want to be and you are not finite to any certain place. Most CNA’s start out working in a nursing home then exude to other places such as hospitals. As a nurse aide you have many options of being in a certain field of nursing. That is what I love about nursing; it is versatile and you can work wherever you want in the country. You can travel and see places you haven’t seen while doing what you love to do as a career.

This quote strongly reinforces my argument about students not knowing what degree has the best career opportunities. Selingo further states: “Students today are commonly told they should follow their passions and find a mission in life, but very few 18-year-olds or even 22-year-olds have enough experience in the world to know what truly excites them. Pick a major that interests you, but allow it and external experiences to help shape, not dictate, your mission in life” (Selingo). In the CFNC.org website, there are multiple surveys you can take to get a better feel for what type of career you might like. During the Career Cluster Survey I honestly had a few difficult decisions. There are tons of questions so you know your results should be accurate. At the end of your survey you will be shown a poll with your results. Out of my results, my top three were Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, Information Technology, and Business Management and Administration. The career I probably should not go for would consist of Transportation, Distribution and Logistics. With my results I plan to be a Computer Programmer.

It also guides students in applying or various courses that will lead them to different career choices.
