On Thursday night, President Trump said that he would call the family’s of fallen U.S soldiers and he kept his promise to some of the family’s.
Staff Sgt. Mark R. De Alencar died in Afghanistan on April 8, his wife Natasha De Alencar got a phone by Trump days later and he it said,” I’m so sorry to hear about the whole situation. What a, what a horrible thing except that he is an unbelievable hero and you know all the people who served with him are saying how incredible he was and just an amazing, amazing guy.” This proves that Trump can actually keep his word--too some. After Trump attacked Florida Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson her role in the phone call between him and Myeshia Johnson, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, after he was killed

What Trump was trying to say and how Johnson and Wilson heard it wound up being two very different things. At one level, that's understandable and if is regrettable. Trump, who never held any political office before running for president, was trying his best to find the right words in a situation in which there are no words. Myeshia Johnson was and is trying to deal with the grief of losing a husband and not even knowing all the facts that led to his death. A normal phone call about nothing sometimes gets misinterpreted. One with this much emotional baggage attached to it? It's easy to see how the two sides just didn't connect.Suddenly the story wasn't about the death of Johnson. It was about whether Trump had "proof" that Wilson was lying. (He didn't -- although White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said several people, including chief of staff John Kelly, were listening to the call and thought the President handled it well.) About what, exactly, Trump had said. Over Wilson being "wacky." Over whether she "secretly" listened to the call between Trump and Johnson. (She didn't; the call was taken on
It might impact because more immigrant households are enrolling in early childhood programs. According to Edweek.org(2014) the enrollment has increased in certain regions to include the west and south regions. Latinos were one of the races that were in high attendance in those school districts. Changing demographics can impact the center due to teachers not adequately prepared to teach children from cultural and linguistic background. This impact would force centers to have teachers training programs to prepare teachers for a more diverse center. Eric.ed.gov(2014) discusses that teachers will need to modify or change their teaching practices to now fit a changing demographic to specifically meet the needs of their students.
Congressman Louie Gohmert, a true American patriot, released a statement on Friday detailing why this election is so important and why keeping Hillary Rodham Clinton away from the White House. Gohmert, who admits he was not in Trump’s corner to begin with, explains that "In his days as a Democrat funder and his friendship with Bill Clinton, Donald Trump’s language was extremely inappropriate, even though Barrack Obama can be seen on video using the same exact language. I knew Donald Trump had such a background, and anticipate there are more atrocious comments in his storied background to be revealed which the mainstream media has been waiting to publicize til October. That’s a reason I didn’t support him in the primary.”
I am here today to say I need your help. I cannot bear this burden alone. I need the help of all Americans, and all America” (2). This helps show his sincerity and that he too is suffering from the loss.
How do we keep Lincoln’s promise to our veterans and their families? Well think about it. You should always respect their work for our nation for thing. The work they have done for us is fighting for our lives. We should cherish them for all the things they have been through to save us and our nation. Lincoln was one of those people. I think he would love if we cherish all the veterans including him. That is only part of his promise. We need to thank the veterans for Lincoln’s promise. We should also always praise God and trust him with all your heart. He’s the one who gave us our lives. Without the veterans lives, what would have done without them fighting for our nation. What would it be like today? Probably not very good. That’s why we need
So I've been contemplating the whole Khan family vs Trump's exchange of words in the media. Trump claims to have respect for our veterans and their families yet he showed no compassion when he went after a fallen hero's parents. He didn't even hesitate to throw in the religion card when he insinuated that the mother of Captain Khan wasn't allowed to speak and correlating it to her being a Muslim. For those on the right that claim to love America and its veterans, if any of Donald's many hate filled tweets and speeches didn't wake you up earlier from supporting him, then this should be where the buck stops. Otherwise, you're reaffirming his insensitive and racist rhetoric. I want Trump to know that the sacrifice made by myself and the thousands
The president had even harder things to say in a later tweet: " We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who
A promise to the veterans and their was created by Lincoln, his speech described the outcome and religious views that war brought. How can we keep such a promise to veterans and their families? Families who’s loved ones fought in horrible wars, who loved ones were lost or injured. The Veteran’s Administration made their mission to keep Lincoln’s promise.
We have all heard someone say, “Did you see what Trump tweeted?” or “Donald Trump should have his twitter account shut down.” at least once, but why? Donald Trump does not stand before millions of U.S. Citizens and tell them what they may or may not want to hear, he tells them what they need to hear. Trump is not a president that has his speeches written out for him to make him sound professional or make him a liar. He speaks the words that everyone is thinking but are too scared to say. Trump speaks the words that he believes to be true no matter the consequences. During the Declaration speech on June 16, 2015 Trump stated, "They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists, and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards, and they're telling us what we're getting." In this quote from Trump he clearly tells exactly what he knows and what he thinks. For instance, if he doesn’t know the exact answer or the proper way to say something he will just say it like he wants to. Donald Trump is not a man that puts on, he is a man full of truth and honesty no matter who likes it or who don’t. Considering this is how he is, having no filter is a big reason he became president. More people will believe a man that doesn’t sound like he is an actor reading his script off of a screen. Americans want the truth and nothing but the truth, and that’s what Trump brought
On March 4, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln promised the following, “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and for his orphan.” His promise means when veterans return from war we should care for them. If a soldier died, care for their widow and make sure they are alright. We should care and respect the people who fought in the war. Lincoln wanted us to know what these people have done for our country and for our protection. We need to care for them so they know we care for their well being.
One of the first areas that Trump addressed in his administration overall was international relations and communications. This was not always a good thing for Trump. The calls that went out, and the conversations that were had were not stated to be good. In fact, there was a large disappointment in that the administration seemed to be roughing the feathers of the
After witnessing the true evils of society (The Ewell’s, racist institutions, Tom Robinson trial trial, etc.), Scout and Jem view Boo as merely an ordinary person. Who once was considered a nightmare, was outweighed by society’s atrocities, bringing light upon the children’s perception of him. 'Boo was about six-and-a-half feet tall, judging from his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any cats he could catch, that's why his hands were bloodstained” (Pg. 16). This quote, prior to the trial, was a rather bizarre description of Boo Radley, and demonstrates the infantile thoughts of these innocent children. The children believed that Boo was a malevolent phantom, when in reality, he was simply an introvert, avoiding the harsh realities of the
Ms Wilson, who represents a Florida district, told CNN the president's call had been made shortly before Sgt Johnson's coffin arrived by aircraft in his home city of
He repeats the idea of America being one unit throughout the majority of his speech. After he belittles Obama’s America, he then develops the idea that America is not a country of subgroups, but one giant family. Trump mentions that the pain the poor and the
In one infamous video released by the Washington Post, viewers can actually hear what has become one of his most widely known quotes, “grab them by the pussy.” Furthermore, one can hear his complete lack of respect for women in the video, saying other statements such as “I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait”, going back to the idea women are simply objects to men, a main point Simone de Beauvoir was trying to combat in The Second Sex. This is not the only instance of Trump being misogynistic and degrading towards women. A said by Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly, “You have called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs’, ‘dogs’, ‘slobs’, and ‘disgusting animals”, to which he replied “[I don’t] have the time for total political correctness.” His sexualization of women has continued for years and is the exact stereotypes feminists are working to break free
Our unit for the month of March is “How Things Move.” Throughout this unit, the children will explore how people can move their bodies and then use this knowledge to investigate how objects move. The children will begin this unit by first exploring how their own bodies move which will provide them with an experiential frame of reference for understanding how non-living things move. Once they have experienced activities that involve moving their own bodies, they will explore the motion of inanimate objects. In the coming weeks, we will talk about gravity as a force that makes objects move and explore how pushes and pulls affect how objects move. As the children participate in the different activities from this unit, they will achieve the following learning goals; in science, they will make predictions, test predictions and compare predictions. They will also be able to describe the effects of common forces on objects. In literacy, they will use descriptive language in conversations to talk about what has been seen and done. In math, they will use the language of spatial relationships to describe the position of objects. They
