Introduction Amelia Earhart once said, “Women, like men, should try to do the impossible. And when they fail, their failure should be a challenge to others.” This quote explains Amelia Earhart’s thoughts and ideas in a nutshell. She was a very charismatic person who excelled in her studies, her writing, and her own aviation career. She was also an aviation pioneer, who took her piloting very seriously. Amelia Earhart was a women devoted to her plane career, her personal studies, and her aviation career.

When she went to her first air show in Iowa she hated planes and called them rusty old junk that can fly. But on December 29, 1920 Amelia attended an airshow in Long Beach, California with her father. Here is when her fascination with planes took flight. This is when she encountered her first airplane flight, and she recalled that she knew she had to fly. Right in the next year on January the third Amelia takes her first flying lesson. About a couple months later she then buys her first plane called the Canary. On December 15, 1921 Amelia passes her flying test given by the National Aeronautic Association known as the NAA. In the next year Amelia sets an unofficial altitude record for female pilots after flying the Canary 14,000 feet. On 1927 Amelia writes a book about forming an organization of women who fly planes. Then the next year she was recognized as the first women to fly across the Atlantic Ocean as a passenger. Then Amelia competes in a woman air derby from Santa Monica to Cleveland finishing third in the race. The same year she helps organize the Ninety-Nines. The Ninety-Nines is an organization for mutual support and advancement of women pilots. Then on 1931 Amelia becomes the president of the Ninety-Nine organization. Then on May 16, 1963 Amelia received an international pilot license from the FAL. She then completes her first solo transcontinental flight for the Beechnut Company.
