Alpha Phi Fraternity Research Paper

Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated purpose is to be of service to all mankind dealing with critical issues in communities domestically and internationally. What I have grown to understand an envision a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to be, I accredit largely to the ladies of the Gamma Theta chapter. This has the result of attending many of the chapter’s events during my time at Hampton thus far. One of my favorite events was a screening of a documentary Girls Rising. I learned to appreciate every opportunity to learn and gain knowledge because in some parts of the world girls are restricted from receiving an education. A

Members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated have made everlasting effects on my life. Having mentors in this fraternity allowed me to see how every member feels responsible for improving the communities that they are from. They never hesitate to take the leadership roles that are needed to see change. I would like to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha because it would allow us to share a brotherhood with great men, it will allow me to make valuable connections with other positive men around the world, and it will help me become the best version of myself. My desire to become a member of this fraternity began my freshmen year after I attended the first informational meeting. At this meeting I was able to speak with members and also learn from them. They each have strong leadership characteristics that allow them to serve on executive boards across campus and they all are high achieving students at Cornell.

When one first thinks of Greek life or a sorority the only thing that comes to mind is the social aspect. Most people don’t think of sororities as social institutions that envelop their own culture, with mannerisms, languages and customs that are unique to each individual organization. However, these institutions promote a common set of values that enable members to become connected in a way that has a more profound meaning than just social interaction. Greek organizations are good examples of how institutions can affect and be affected by social status and roles within the collegiate community. They are also a prime example of how race, class and gender can affect a social setting in both positive and negative manners.

I believe that I would be a perfect fit for National Honor Society. Each and every day I exemplify the four National Honor Society pillars, Character, Service, Scholarship, and Leadership. At the very end of eighth grade our graduating class and teachers had an anonymous vote to pick two people with the best character in the class. I won the award which was called the Marty Lebaron award, donated in the name of a young man who passed away from cancer, but his character was so great it can never be forgotten. I have four younger sisters, very often I am helping them with homework, making sure they are fed, and get to sleep on time. I also babysit my neighbors very small children, their parents trust me to keep their children safe, make dinner, and make sure they get to bed. Every two weeks I would go over and mow my grandparents lawn and clean up their lawn. During the winter I would shovel and make sure the garbage cans make it to the curb on time. This summer when they decided to move to Florida, my dad and I helped them move all of their furniture out of their house and onto the rental truck.

A good leader inspires people to better themselves. I feel I am a good candidate for the National Honor Society because I have leadership experiences in refereeing youth soccer games, volunteering in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and taking Links, which is a class that helps students with autism in their classes. While referring children's soccer games I had to pick and choose the calls that I had to make so the kids could learn the game but also have fun playing the game. Even though some kids didn't like it, I had to be a sense of authority to them to make sure none of them got hurt when playing soccer. When I go to visit my little brother, for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, I help him with his homework, and also make it fun

I would be delighted to be a member of the National Honor Society for a number of reasons. One of the main reasons being that NHS gives you a better chance of being accepted into a quality college as well as making you eligible for certain scholarships. I have been taught that being a part of NHS is a privilege and special honor that can only be awarded through hard work and success. Knowing this I have worked hard to be eligible to become a member. I believe I should be a member because of my distinction in leadership, scholarship, and community service.

The National Honor Society recognizes students who attain a high level of accomplishment in the areas of academics, character, leadership, and service. In order to be considered for membership in the National Honor Society one must not only demonstrate each of these four qualities, but excel in each.

I am greatly honored of having the opportunity of applying to the National Honor Society. To most students, National Honor Society is just an extra tassel on graduation day, but to me, I see it as an introduction to our future. I have been looking forward to joining this prestigious organization since the beginning of freshman year. Throughout this past two scholastic years, I have admired the hard work that the students have done to help the community, and I believe that I can play a part in their hard work in this upcoming year.

I think I should be in the Junior Honor Society. I have met the requirements to receive this opportunity. I would not let this opportunity to waste. I care for the community and do what ever service to help it out. I help do services for the library when they need it. For example on March 10,2017, I helped make capes for sick kids and then gave them happy birthday cards for the birthday kids. I help out my community by helping people shovel their driveway. Like some of my neighbors can't do it so I ask if I can do it for them for free. I look out for people to make sure they are ok. I am a captain of a football team because of my great leadership skills that can be useful. I put effort and time into my work. Around the house I am a role model

By bringing my gifts of music, creativity, and a willingness to learn new things, I will be able to join with other National Honor Society (NHS) members to bring glory to God through the activities the King’s Christian Academy supports.

Being valuable is the main standard of my life. As a junior in John Bapst Memorial High School, I have the high desire to contribute my school into a more wonderful place. I hope joining National Honor Society could give me an opportunity on helping others achieve their goals, and a chance to help my school being stronger and stronger.

As I entered the Alpha’s Probate I heard the uproar from the supporters of the newly inducted young men. They chanted throughout the night and were so happy to be “Ice cold brothers”, although it meant so much more to them. It meant they would be a part of a brotherhood, forever. I plan to debunk the stereotype and gain a new perspective on fraternities, and more specifically ULM’s Eta Chi chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc.

It was a November morning I have already arrived to the group house where I was gardening with Best Buddies. The plan of the day was to work with your buddy and make a container garden which was a clay pot filled with bright buds. The experience made me realize that I had to initiate leadership because it was my buddy’s first time gardening and I’ve done it before. It was different because it was something simple but behind it was filled with complexities. As a candidate for National Honor Society I see myself exemplifying leadership, service, and character. After graduating from high school, I plan to pursue the career of a Pediatrician. I will pursue this career with leadership, character, and the greatest service I can give. This goal has

I believe I should be chosen for membership into the National Honor Society for many reasons. First, I try my hardest in school and take my academics very seriously. I spend a lot of time on homework because I like to go over and make sure I understand the subject in depth. When signing up for classes, I try to pick classes that will challenge me and also classes that I think may help me in the future with my career. Before tests, I study extra on that subject so I am prepared for whatever we are tested on. There are certain subjects I struggle with more than others, so I just spend more time on learning that subject. Overall, I enjoy academics because it pushes me to do my best.
