Have you ever wondered what would happen in an emergency and no one was able to use their phone in school? Or what if there was a school shooting at your child’s school and they had no way of contacting you? Many people look at the cons of having cell phones at school, but have you ever looked at the good side. Students need their cell phones at lunch because it solves a lot of problems. Having cell phones at lunch will help us be in contact with our parents, know what is going on throughout the day, and give us something to do after we are done eating.

When in emergencies kids usually turn to their electronics to contact others for help. Students want to have reassurance and know that if any inconvenience occur they can reach their parents or others as soon as possible. Most parents and children like to stay in touch with one another at all times. Especially if there's a change of plans after school or if there's any accidents that appeared and need to be evacuated immediately. Aside from, rivals say that students are most likely to lose their cell phones. In the meantime, students would be responsible and put it in a safe place at the appropriate time. Cell phones were invented for a reason and not just to play games. Phones were properly made for calling but the years went by and better technology came and high tech. Sometimes kids have phones and have no service on it and they may just be playing games and that's the time I believe you're not allowed to have your phone out. And a teacher can take it if you're playing games and not paying attention to your work or even the teacher. But most kids in school should know when to have their phone out or put up.

Phones, are one of the most addictive things in our lives. We carry them with us everywhere. But, for 6 to 7 hours we need to put the phone down for a power nap. These many hours are spent and school where we sit through classes, dazing out the window. Then a bell rings and it is a lock down and it is not a drill. This is an emergency! The popularity of phones has been debated on if they should be permitted to be carried at school. Students should be allowed to carry phones in school because for safety, a useful tool, and an emergency.

Phones should not be allowed to be used at school because phones tend to distract not only the student that has the phone, but also the other student's and the teacher. When a person gets a text they want to answer it right then. When that student or person receives a text, it interrupts the whole class because for one, your going to want to answer it, and for the second reason the class looks at you and that causes a big distraction for everyone that was listening to the teacher and trying to learn. Another reason a phone is distraction is students tend to stay on social media and post crazy things and selfies and during class they want to take a picture of themselves and other student's to post and that distracts not only that person but their classmates around them.

The first reason cell phones should be allowed in school is if a student needs to contact someone if they are sick. We should be allowed to call or text are parents if we feel sick. Kids will leave school and not get teachers or students sick. Kids will be able to stay at home so they can get better then come back so they do not miss too many days. If there is a emergency parents might need contact a student or something might happen at school where a student might need to call or text their parent.If kids have a condition of some sort they might need to let their parent know what they need. If students are sick and out of school for a while they should be allowed to make the work up that they missed. If students are sick and text or call someone to come get them that looks good on the school almost like they send people home so others don’t get sick and germs do not

People should be able to use phones during schooltime. When students have free time we can use our phones for games, music, and anything else that it can be used for. We should be able to be able to use our phones in the hallways. Thats what we should be able to do.

If the school caught on fire would you want to run back in the classroom to call the fire station or pull out a phone from your pocket. Students should be allowed to have a phone in their pocket or in their backpack in case of an emergency. Many students forget the phone numbers in their contacts. Sometimes phone numbers are long and hard to remember. What if a school phone didn’t work and the class was in a lockdown.

Now you may be thinking "What if the parents have a job?" The parents should care enough to bring their child a change of clothes to school. Another example would be if there is an emergency at school, like an intruder, or the child gets sick, they would need to be able to contact their parents. Some children do not have their parent's cell phone numbers memorized, but they may be in the child's device. Forasmuch, if the child had homework, he or she would need to contact the teacher for help through a private class messaging system. Therefore, the teacher could explain, and the child would no longer need help.

Have you ever got your phone taken away? You would probably be mad. On the other hand, you might think that it was your fault for trying to do something that you know you couldn't pull off. I am here to discuss that either phone should or shouldn't be used in school hours. I think phones should be used during school hours. There are very important needs for one. If you forgot something, I could call your mom/dad to come and bring it to you. Also you can use it for emergency. For example, there cold be a breakout in a science lab in high school. In today’s world there is a lot of students that bully others or get in many fights, when that happens a lot of students do not have cell phone to be able to call for help or able to contact their parents, or another teacher for help or call the police for help. Another major reason that students should be able to their cell phone in a class room was in of 1929, the St. Valentine massacre happened in Chicago IL. The massacre was the worse gang related killing that’s ever recorded, the victims that were a part of the massacre was young children. Majority of secondary schools has a lot of gang violence going on. So it cause schools to go on lock downs due to things that have happened around the school. So, for the student’s safety, just in case the school goes on lock frag down. Their parents would need to know. So the students could just call or text their parents and tell them what’s going on.
