On September 14, 2002 a beautiful little angel named Alexa Michelle Nawrocki was born. Mikayla Nellannej Fletcher is a seventeen year old girl residing in Johnson County, Tennessee. While her childhood was fraught with an unfortunate ensemble of severely negative influences, her resolve preceded her. Through trial and troubles she came out as only a slightly damaged, sweet, and ingenious person. This isn’t intended to be a passage about her history and personal development, but an account of my personal experience with her. I’m fortunate enough to have the title of her boyfriend, and even more fortunate to be able to call her my girlfriend. Only one other has had that privilege, one who certainly did not deserve the title. Even after his abuse and mistreatment Mikayla managed to preserve her demeanor when it comes to romance

On Friday February the 1st, 2002 in Sabre Springs Ca, 7 yr. old Danielle Van Dam went missing from her bedroom. A normal evening earlier on that day Danielle & her two older brothers were home with their father Damon down stairs, watching movies while her mom Brenda went out with a couple of friends for a few hours. The kids went to bed around 10 pm, Danielle in her own room, & her brothers in theirs. Later on that night downstairs approx. at 2 am. Brenda got home & noticed the garage door open. She went in with her two friends who she went out with & was visiting, & laughing with Damon’= & a couple other guy friends who left after an hour. At around 3:30 am. Mr. Van Dam went to check on the family dog, & noticed that the slide & glass door was open, but he assumed that one of the friends must have not closed it all of the way while leaving.

Some people would agree with the idea of Melissa Zevada not coming back to coach at SHS, however, I strongly disagree. Zavada has been a mentor to many students, as well as played basketball at Ashford University, Blackhawk East, and IVCC, went into the Navy, coached and played basketball in the Navy league, and graduated from college with her Masters. I have a thousand more reasons she should stay as a coach for basketball but I only have time for a few.

Afterwards, she would have to visit the hospital in Nebraska every year to make sure the cancer is still gone. Luckily, the cancer has not returned. She kept to her own promises, and let her experience with cancer have little effect on her as possible.
