An American Lung Association study of air quality across the United States says
San Diego’s air is getting worse. Nation’s eight largest city got a grade of
F because the public is still inhaling huge amounts of pollution mostly
during the summer. Most of the pollution comes from local roads and freeways,
which are heavily crowded with cars and trucks. San Diego also gets some air
pollution that drifts here from greater Los Angeles and Mexico.
I believe that this topic is important because we as people breath this toxic air
and that isn’t good for our health. The purpose of this research paper is to show
how bad the air pollution in San Diego really is and, the answer the question how
we could fix this problem for a cleaner

excessive idling of your automobile, Use electric or hand-powered lawn care
equipment, Be careful not to spill gasoline when filling up your car or gasoline
powered lawn and garden equipment, Run dishwashers and clothes washers
only when full, Choose environmentally friendly cleaners and, Use water based
or solvent free paints whenever possible and buy products that say "low VOC".
Those things could help and could also fix the air pollution that is happening in
our city.
Air pollution could be very harmful to us as humans, it could effect us and also it
can effect your health. We as a community could solve that problem if we all
compromise and do what you have to do to help the problem. I have learned that

there is a possible to save air pollution and that we can help. I’ve also learned
that its just now transportation that is causes pollution, there are more things to it.
I am willing to let other people know that this is a big problem by setting up a
conversation in the lab and let people come at lunch to learn more about it. I
would also join any local organization that would help this problem
In July 2003, the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District first amended Rule 4901 in the San Joaquin Valley, which focuses on regulations of wood burning fireplaces and wood burning heaters usage by homeowners in the valley. The San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District Residential Wood Burning Rule 4901 lists all its amendments, exemptions, requirements, penalties and incentive programs that make up its purpose in limiting the emissions of carbon monoxide and particulate matter from the air of the
Being one of the biggest social issues in Los Angeles, Air pollution has two main reasons: vehicle traffic and population growth. Actually, it is in a such crucial level that scientists indicate that air pollution in Los Angeles may endanger peoples lives. Scientific researches show that the air pollution causes cancer and have an impact on pregnant woman. Advertisements shows us some solutions like making public transportation common and sustainable housing. With the growing population of Los Angeles, something has to be done . Otherwise it is going to be impossible to deal with the air pollution. Population growth in Los
Air pollution is really bad for the environment. Some companies operating in Southern California are spending millions of dollars to help reduce air pollution. According to a report by the American Lung Association. “Los Angeles, Riverside and Long Beach still remain the worst place
Air pollution is when there is a presence in the air of a substance that has harmful or poisonous effects. There is air pollution almost everywhere in the world. This is due to industrialization. The world today depends on things that emit hazardous fumes and other hazardous pollutants in the air. Air pollution that is hazardous or toxic can have health risks. Some of these risks range from skin rash, cough and headache to cancer, nervous system damage and birth defects. There are no positive effects of air pollution. Air pollution is also in the form of acid rain. Acid rain pours wherever it’s ready. Acid rain destroys plants, harms animals, fish and other wildlife. Humans aren’t the only ones affected by air pollution everything is affected.
Air pollution is air with a lot of chemicals in it that makes it hard for us to breathe. We breathe 2 gallons of air per minute which makes it 3400 gallons of air each day. Above 50,000 people die in America due to air pollution. 80% of our lung disease are caused by the pollution of the cars. Indoor air pollution is 2-5 times worse than the air outdoors. Ways to reduce air pollution is by wearing mask continually to save ourselves from air pollution. Electric vehicles produce less air pollution because they don’t produce gas. Another way to reduce it is that ensure new vehicles had to be fitted with catalytic converters. With these changes it also reduces ozone pollution. Ozone air irritant your eyes, nose and throat. By making these changes it would be easier for everybody to breathe.
Los Angeles County ranks among the 10% worst air quality polluters in the US. The hustle and bustle of public transportation and smog released by an over-populated commuter based region, have significantly lowered air quality standards. Henceforth, health concerns have risen for all Angelinos. Research has observed that there is a serious influx of pollutants in the air that could have damaging results both on adults and children alike. However, different forms of renewable energy over the years have facilitated an alternative to this issue. A movement away from an urban sprawl Los Angeles to new urbanism has allotted us better living and breathing conditions over the last several years.
California’s central valley air contains several different toxic pollutants produced by things such as industries, vehicles, and other means. Ozone is a type of pollutant that can cause serious health issues. It is produced when nitrogen dioxide, which is produced by cars and power plants, is exposed to the sun. Nitrogen dioxide alone can cause breathing issues and damage to the lungs. When nitrogen dioxide becomes ozone, it can cause eye, nose and throat irritation, cause damage to rubber, paint, and paper surfaces, and damage plants. Carbon monoxide, nitrates and other oxides are also problematic in California. The state also has an abundance of natural pollutants such as dust and smoke. In California, we do not get enough rain to wash the air clean, and we get enough sun to create an increase in issues with pollution.
(Attention Getter) When people think about air pollution, they usually think about smog, acid rain, and other forms of outdoor air pollutants. But did you know that air pollution can exist inside homes and buildings? In the article “Air Pollution Fatalities Now Exceed Traffic Fatalities by 3 to 1”, Bernie Roberts (2002) says that 70,000 people die each year from the effects of air pollution. This outrageous number of people dying is because of human activities that release substances into the air that cause health problems. (Credibility & Relevancy) Nobody wants to die because of polluted air, and this wish is shared by
Air pollution, together with littering, are causing many problems in our large, industrial citties today
Los Angeles has the worst air quality in the nation. In the Los Angeles area an estimated 1,341 people die each year from conditions caused by poor air quality (Danelski, 2016). When compared to our neighboring cities and counties our death rate is significantly higher. While both local and state governments have enforced many different regulations to combat air pollution.
Air pollution are impacting the environment, and it is imperative that laws are enforced to help build and sustain a better air quality. Air pollutants can be in the form of particulate matter which can be very harmful to our health. Stimulation to our eyes, nose, throat, and breathing infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia are all short-term effects. You’re head might hurt, you might want to puke, and you might have allergic reactions. Short-term air pollution can put people with asthma and emphysema in a worse condition. Long lasting breathing disease, lung cancer, heart disease, and even damage to your brains, nerves, livers, or kidneys are all long-term effects. If you’re exposed to air pollution continuously, it would affect children’s lungs and may complicate medical conditions for the elders. Some people argue and deny the bad air problem. They claim that pollution may actually be good for the Earth. The hazy weather caused by pollution has made plants far more productive when it comes to scrubbing greenhouse gasses out of the air. Pollution has turned plants into better carbon dioxide processing machines. But this is bad for our own health. Pollution is causing global warming which leads to massive ice land melting. Polar bears and other animals that live there are losing there habitats and even dying. Melting ice could also lead to more sea water which would bury some cities or land near the coastal areas. There is already a tremendous amount of people on this planet. If our land decreases, and our population continues to increase, some people would have to start living on another planet; therefore, making it a priority to address the areas
Most times, when Californians drive through the freeways around Downtown Los Angeles, instead of seeing the clear blue sky, dark gray masses of CO2 emissions fill the air. From the time of the Industrial Revolution till now, the levels of pollution in the world, including California has been dramatically rising. Air pollution results in alarming consequences to both the environment and the people. Professors Bradley Bereitschaft and Keith Debbage explored relationships of air pollution and its effects in U.S Metropolitan areas. Their studies have shown that emissions of air pollutants, such as CO2, affect human health and are responsible for over one million premature deaths. They also talk about greenhouse gasses, such as CO2 that are a major
Earth is the only place in the universe that can support human life. It is very important that we realize this fact and take very good care of it. Various human activities cause the destruction of earth. Human beings can live a few days without food and water however humans can last only a few seconds without oxygen. Various human activities lead to the aggravation of the quality of air. Gases produced by human activities mainly due to exploitation of resources and industrialization cause air pollution. Green house gases mainly chlorofluorocarbons; carbon
Since human’s activity, pollution becomes a big problem in the world. There are a lot of part of pollutions include water pollution, light pollution and air pollution. Air pollution is happened in our life. The United States is also a victim of air pollution. In 1943, Los Angeles photochemical smog event occurred. The whole of Los Angeles was covered with smoke. There are about 400 people died and a lot of fruits in orchards began to wither.
They affect their lungs and cause heart problems from air pollution because some people have a job from a factory or junked areas have waste foods for smell with air
