In today’s society things are ever changing; more specifically, with agriculture. The Ag industry is constantly innovating itself to make production that much better. Farmers, ranchers, and agriculturalists in general, are adapting to these new innovations daily. Those employed in the field of agriculture are constantly changing what they do to meet the demands of the growing population. Two hundred years ago, agriculturalists would not have been able to feed the current population. If our producers had not modified their ways, our lives today would be much different.

In the past, 90 percent of our nation lived on a family farm and either raised or grew their own food; however, today only two percent of the United States population produces food. Back then, one farmer could only feed around twenty people, and today that one farmer can adequately feed over 150 people. With all of the technological advances over time, it is truly amazing to see how farm agriculturalists have come. Agriculture went from horse drawn equipment to tractors that can drive themselves with the touch of a button. Farmers can now use a breeding method where they genetically modify a crops DNA, which causes quite the commotion among consumers, but can be very beneficial to the producers.
One of the mot amazing things about agriculturalists to me is the constant adaptation. Today’s farmers are expected to grow more food, on less land, with less water than they ever have before. Many people concern themselves with the idea that by the year 2050 when the world population surpasses 9 billion people, our farmers will not be able to provide a reliable food source. Despite this misconception, I do not see it as an issue because I know American agriculturalists have always adapted to the needs of the nation, and done whatever it takes to provide for
