Good morning on this wet Wednesday.
Here in New York, it’s been a big year for dogs.
In March, the city’s Health Department issued an advisory allowing dogs to join humans at outdoor spaces at restaurants and bars.
And recently, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed legislation that permits pets to be buried next to their humans in some cemeteries.
Not only do we spoil our pets (and even let them dictate where we live), but nearly nine of 10 New York State residents speak to their pets as if they were human, according to a recent poll.
Make no bones about it: New Yorkers love their four-legged friends.
So perhaps you’ve thought about getting a puppy or giving one as a holiday gift?
If you’re not traveling, the time off from work around the holidays

Weather
TODAY IN NEW YORK, NY
Mild with rain and a thunderstorm 55°F 60° 55°
TOMORROW: 58° 40°
It’s not the best day to take your dog for a walk in the park, unless the two of you are looking to get muddy.
Tuesday’s raucous rain is expected to continue for another 24 hours or so. Highs may break 60 degrees, but expect ample showers (and a possible thunderstorm) to make you want to cocoon in your blanket and play hooky.
The light at the end of the tunnel? A streak of sunshine is expected to arrive on Thursday and stick around all weekend.

Introduction: I spend my days in class and out of class looking a pictures of dogs. Not only are they my favorite animal, but my current dog is probably my best friend. Because I have moved away from home, I have been missing out on the unconditional love only a canine can provide. I got to thinking that in the near future I will be adopting a dog.
A thriving natural area filled with positive energy can help a community, as well. In fact, New York City's rate of dog bites dropped to 10% of its previous number with correllation to its off-leash park policy. Social interaction with other dogs is essential to a dog's mental state. It can even be positively influential for a human to have shared time with a dog. Studies show that owners of dogs have reported feeling more fulfilled in their lives than both people without pets and people with less interactive pets such as cats or small animals. Dogs deserve recompensation for the ways they help us feel better every day, and a park is a small
Families that use off-leash dog parks are able to thoroughly help and develop their dogs for a better life. Off-leash dog parks allow both pets and owners to learn and grow through exercising and socializing without constant worry of infringing someone else rights. It benefits dogs as they are given adequate space to run and use as an outlet meanwhile, recognizing certain behaviors of more respectable and mature pets through socializing. Properly exercising dogs allow them to relieve tension and unbend; this potentially changes them from being noisy and irritable into more quite and friendlier animals. There have been numerous accounts within my neighborhood where the local residents have filed noise complaints on local dog owners. In the recent study, “On the Fence: Dog Parks in the (Un)Leashing of Community and Social Capital,” authors Taryn Graham and Troy Glover of the
I believe that a dog park would be an excellent idea for Muscatine, Iowa. Not only would a park benefit the dogs but it would benefit the owners. A dog park would help in raising and caring for the dog. Dogs should be able to play and be free in a space that they will be safe. Not everyone has the space available at their homes. Some people live in apartments that don't have the yard space needed to let the dog run around. Expecially with bigger dogs. They need a lot of room. I can understand why people would be opposed to the idea though. There's always a chance of a dog harming another animal or human. Dogs can carry diseases, fleas, lice, and other harmful things that can be transfered to humans and animals. But if you let yourself
I believe one of the biggest problems that they face if the dog park is bulit will be the noise. As stated in the article the average dog bark can reach 75 decibels and large
I believe that we as a state should we deside if that's a good idea or not. I think this way becuase there are many perspectives that you have to take in. You have to know how many people are in you town. You also have to know if you have enough space for a dog park.
Ever since the dawn of the civilization, one of the most profound undertakings for the human kind has been the mission of discovering and understanding our bond with a divine power, a creator. Such knowledge would reveal us the purpose of our existence. Every one of the major religions of the world offers rules and recommendations that need to be followed in order for the worshiper to become enlightened, or one with God. And almost all of them use temples as sacred places that offer a connection between our world and the heavens. A place that allows our senses to get close to God.
Some believe, dog owners shouldnt pressure the city to provide the community with a dog park, because its your problem not having the space and the place to walk your dog. But on the other hand, having a dog park is great for the dogs. Its physically and mentally good for the dogs according to the ASPCA.
A vast majority of citizens in one city own dogs. Some citizens would prefer having a dog park for there dogs, but some do not think it would be the best idea for the community. Dogs can get out of control, attack others, put other dogs at risk and so for. Dogs can also get out and communicate with each other and have the best behavior. People have different opinions on this situation and i think adding a dog park in cities would be an excelant idea.
There has been a lot of controversy regarding the idea of constructing a dog within the city. Personally, i am against this park for three reasons. The first reason is that it would not be a good financial commitment to make. The second reason is that it would bring about an unecessary amount of legal liability. Lastly, i believe that it would be disturbing to many residents of the area.
Dogs are like part of the family. Would you want to leave one of your family members at home while you went, and enjoyed yourself at the park with the rest of your family. I bet you would'nt! So why do people want to exclude dogs from going to the park?
I haven’t shown much interest in toys quite yet, but I do like to jump around on my back feet and play a tag like game with people. I love going outside, and would love to find a family that had a fenced in yard, where I could run, chase, play, and just adventure around for a few hours every day, and then come back in and hang out with everyone. I’m not sure if I was an inside dog in my past, because I’m not completely housetrained, though with some time, training, and effort, I’m sure that I can eventually become fully housetrained. When I’ve met other dogs here at CHHS, I’m very curious and want to go up and sniff them, but become very scared when they try to approach me. So as a result, I would feel most comfortable in an environment where I could be the only one receiving all of my owners love and attention. So if you are wanting to add a shy, beautiful, spunky little gal to your family, then come on down today so we can start on this amazing journey
There are many things to consider before adopting. First, bringing a dog into your life is a commitment of often, many years. Especially if you adopt a puppy. Adopting a puppy, you should be willing to commit 10-15 years on average, and be willing to take care of that dog through sickness and through health. Making sure all family members in the household are on board for this is also very important. Considering the ages of your family members is important as well. Having young kids in the home, you may want to think twice about adopting a very young puppy or a very small breed that is under 15 pounds. Young children do not understand how to act around dogs, especially ones on the smaller size and accidents can happen. The new dog must fit the physical capabilities of everyone in the household as well or at least the main
Attention Catcher: I’m sure that most of you have either had or one day will have a pet, but where did you or where do you plan on getting one? A pet store, breeder, or a shelter? Everyone probably have heard of the phrase, “Adopt, Don’t Shop” but what exactly does it mean?
Specific purpose statement: To persuade my audience to adopt a dog or dogs instead of buying them from a breeder or pet store.
