Then their mother and father would come home at the earliest 6, and the latest around seven-thirty; although, not together. Their parent would both grab something hearty out of the fridge and sit down at the dining room table. They wouldn’t wait for each other; if their meals happen to overlap, that was a welcomed surprise.

It was also the day in which we received presents from our relatives and that’s why I was so excited.
