I watched two different YouTube videos today on active listening. The two videos were both clips from the television show “Everybody loves Raymond”. Clip one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP55nA8fQ9I Clip two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VOubVB4CTU Clip one has the parents in a class for understanding there children’s behaviors better. The video was a good representation of parents not understanding why kid act out or how to handle it. Active listening is making a decision to put your feelings and thoughts aside and understanding what the other person has to say. When Ray was trying to convince the teacher she needed to go to grandma’s party it showed the usual route some people take. If the kid says no, take something away so
The Radio play and The Twilight Zone have three main things in common. The first similarity is, the characters in both try to run the hitchhiker over. They both try to run the hitchhiker over because they are getting very paranoid about the hitchhiker popping up somewhere else. Another is, both of the hitchhiker’s that are picked up by the drivers take their shoes off. Both of the hitchhiker's that are picked up take their shoes off because they were walking too much and their feet were hurting. Lastly, Ms. Whitney tells them both that the dead. They are both told that they are dead because they got killed in a car accident five days ago.
After watching the video Precious Knowledge, the first example of ethnic studies being threatened/ facing elimination is that senate is passing bills like 2881 that act against diversity and programs that support and culture beyond what is sought to be “fit” in the American educational system. Programs that promote ethnic studies gives students the pride and knowledge of where they have come from and therefore they feel more engaged in the classroom. Leaders like Tom Horne have the right to their own opinion but are being oppressive by not embracing the culture of different ethnic groups. By not attending these classes and trying to relate to these diverse communities; he is creating a dystopia to the American youth. Political leaders should
The Twilight Zone and The Andy Griffith Show have two episodes that are very alike. In the episodes two strange things happen, on Maple street a flash of light appears in the sky and all of the cars, telephones, electricity, etc. will not work for some reason. In Mayberry a stranger appears and knows everything about everybody. In the episode of The Twilight Zone all of the friends and neighbors accuse each other of being monsters, but nobody actually knows who it is. But in The Andy Griffith Show everyone knows that the suspicious man is not somebody they know, but the deputy does accuse him of being a foreign spy.
Monday not long after arriving at the office SAC Mark Pro received a phone call concerning assistance from the GBI for a death in Adel. CSS Kellyn Wilkes was the CSS on call. The other intern “Olivia” and I rode with CSS Wilkes to the scene. Upon arrival, we were still waiting on a search warrant before entering the house. However, since pictures are always taken before entering a house in death investigations we took pictures from different distances as well as vehicles on the property before entering the residence. Additionally, DNA swabs were taken before entering the home as well. I watched and observed as evidence was obtained and as the residence was searched. Afterward, evidenced was logged into an online database and left with the Adel Sherriff department.
I found the signing statements the most interesting in Chapter Seven. A signing statement is an announcement made by the president at the time of signing a bill into law. This is used sometimes to show the presidents’ interpretation of the new law and their predictions of the many benefits of the new law. It also has been used to identify sections of the law that are considered improper or unconstitutional. There have been many signing statements throughout history but many of them were not recorded.
Have you ever wondered if there is a difference between sitcoms back then and now? This paper is going to compare and contrast the differences between an episode of Full House and an episode of Modern Family. We are able to spot notable differences and similarities by comparing the characters, plot, and setting for both of these sitcoms.
interpersonal conflict. In the episode that I watched, it touched on quite a few conflicts that were
Many people, in the course of their life, will have a feeling of uncertainty and trust. In the book Before and After, the parents of Jacob (Ben and Carolyn Reiser) begin to get the feeling of uncertainty and lose trust in their son, Jacob. Ben and Carolyn Reiser first go into denial (as do many people when they are unsure whether something is true or a lie) when they heard the suspicion of their son being accused of killing his girlfriend. Plenty of people, including me, know the feeling of being lied to or thinking a close person is untrustworthy. I can relate the feeling Ben and Carolyn Reiser have toward their son, in dealing with accusing someone of being untrustworthy.
Despite the new discoveries in medicine whether it is a new vaccine or antibiotic, the most basic components for disease prevention and death in humans depends on a good nutrition and access to clean water. The RX for Survival: Back to the Basics video depicts how both an inadequate nutrition and malnutrition can impaired a child’s physically and developmentally. It is estimated that over 100 million children in the world are undernourished and causing the death of more than “one third” of the children (WHO). Furthermore, the consumption of contaminated water, which carries disease organism, exacerbates the mortality rate among children.
There were many points throughout the video, introduced by Ken Robinson, that I can relate to with my experience in school. A topic that I could indubitably relate to is a smaller class size. For example, I only graduated with seventy people in my entire grade and I come from a public school. My class size, from freshman to senior year on average, was around twenty students. Yet, even with such a small school, I always felt like teachers were too busy to help us personally when we needed it. The teachers would continually answer any questions we had very vaguely. Which in turn, left us to question ourselves if we were correct.
In Southern California outside Los Angeles, there is a small town by the name of Ojai, the setting for Easy A the 2010 comedic classic with strong influences from Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter. Emma Stone plays the protagonist, a high school teenager named Olive who is the typical small-town girl. She has a younger brother and two excellent parents, your average middle American family of four. From the very beginning of the film there is almost a sense of foreshadowing while the camera pans through the tiny town of Ojai, helping the viewer really understand how small the town actually is.
Living and learning with assistive technologies (AT) for disabled people is allowing them to lead virtually normal lives. Assistive technology in action videos I have recently watched introduced me to 3 people who are being assisted by this cutting edge technology.
Alessia Cara’s song “Wild Things” was released in 2015 as a part of her album Know-It-All . “Wild Things” was directed by Aaron A Bertrand; since the music videos release on March 7, 2016 it has been nominated for Best Pop Video at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. The music video begins showing individual pictures of Alessia Cara and her friends with their names written on the screen below. A monologue is playing in the background in which Alessia Cara describes what the “Wild Things” are to the viewer. Alessia describes them as “Where The Wild Things Are is a place that exists in our minds. It's a place of liberty and shamelessness. It can take a split second or a lifetime to find it, but once you do, you'll be free.” The girls in the video are wearing different colored ripped jeans with
I have heard about censorship many times, but did I ever think about it seriously? No! Censorship is a suppression of speech or other public communication that is considered objectionable, harmful, or sensitive as determined by the government. It involves content that is harmful to the public and children who can easily watch the harmful subject through one click. Censorship can be on the largest level or on a local level where one could want to control only one community or a person. The government makes some laws that dictate how a person or a government cannot abuse any rights or freedoms. In democratic countries, people have rights to express their feelings and freedom of speech. So the question here is weather censorship
I'm going to explain how to make your own music video you need a song and background music a dance and cute outfits and have some provider to sponsor the video.
