The most important leadership practice of Debby Hewitt is overseeing and ensuring compliance with accreditation bodies such as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). JCAHO is the accreditation and evaluation program Sonora Regional Medical Center uses to analyze the practices and processes of the hospital and outpatient clinics while also comparing them to standards of other hospitals across America. These processes vary from ensuring the completion of a referral from one office to another, to maintaining a sterile environment during a surgery or procedure. If JCAHO were to find enough deficiencies in the outpatient clinics, the accreditation and overall rating could be taken away or lowered, which could
“A child who copes with adversity through the social channel seeks support and control through the structure of his or her relationships. The first group I attended was on self-esteem, with the adolescent group, ages 12-17. The clients were asked to fill out a worksheet called “The Great Discovery,” which asked questions such as, “Describe a time when you were deeply inspired,” or “Think of something that represents you.” After each adolescent was finished, the behavioral health specialist had them share their responses. Most of the clients were not very interested in completing the worksheet because they had done this same activity recently in another group session. Following this activity, the adolescents had cinema therapy. The clients were very excited about this and chose to watch the movie “How to Train your Dragon 2.”
Today, teens face many struggles which include making decisions on, medical, social as well as academic matters. These are only a few decisions that teens need to face. Achieve3000’s article “New Heart, New Life” takes the reader on a journey of 16 year old Courtney Mescall who was faced with the important decision of whether or not to get a heart transplant. At first, Mescall refused the surgery thinking of her past medical history. After evaluating her options she finally agreed to have the medical procedure done. When looking at Mescall´s story one can easily see how she had help from her mother to guide her into

Cindy (pseudonym) is an eight-year-old African-American female. She is in third grade and has attended the after-school program at HG. She was referred to art therapy by the after-school program teacher, due to her self-harm ideation and self-harm attempts. It is reported that she verbalized a desire to “disappear” and wished she did not “exist.” She scratched her arm to harm herself and threatened to smash her fingers in the door. The teacher also indicated that Cindy demands individual attention. Cindy’s mother mentioned that Cindy has a hard time opening up to anyone. She has no close friends and often expresses feelings that no one cares about her. She does not interact with strangers and wants to fight with her friends. When I observed Cindy in the classroom at HG, Cindy seemed to build a positive relationship with her peers; however, did not appear to have any close relationship with any one child.

At one point in a person life, they will participated in a group whether it is part of a specific committee, therapy, or social group. In recent years, there has been a rise in counseling within a group forum veering from the tradition individual counseling. Therapists, physiologist, and counselors believe that form of counseling is beneficial to both counselor and client. This allows the counselor to help several clients at once rather than one at a time decreasing their strenuous workload and demanding work hours. For this class assignment we were required to record a video session of a group session demonstrating skills discussed by Yalom in our required text. This paper will serve the purpose to explore my reaction of the experience of leading the group, reflections on the Yalom skills I incorporated, and my views on the strengths I displayed as a leader. In addition, I will explore ways I can improve as a group leader. From this assignment, my hope is to complete a session with tenants of Yalom, and make improvements to my therapeutic style.
Everyone of us has their own story to tell. From experiences, to emotions, and to ideals, there is a very wide spectrum of differences. And just like everybody else, I belong in this world full of diverseness. Meeting people of different backgrounds, AYLA taught me that we are all leaders in our own style and that we could empower anyone to be their leader selves from within. After all, We got everyone's back. We can achieve our dreams and aspirations together.
For this reason, Mrs. Ribeiro was a wonderful role model someone her kids could actually count on. Someone taking her time to give her own students another experience, giving them a reason why they should make something about them self. Knowing every single one of her student’s name was something that impacted her student they felt special. Mrs. Ribeiro was a role model to those kids when she brought the lama she would get them to wonder what’s actually out there in this world. They all learned how to respect listen to each other and respect this is something super important for young children. Being able to remember the principle you had when you were just Five years old can be a difficult task unless if that person really impacted your life
