Many books and movies have been produced about his life to show the role he played in our history and the impact he had on our country. The most recent film, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, captivated audience’s attention with a riveting tale about our sixteenth president hunting vampires. The film contains some historical truth, and it even captures some of Lincoln’s most important personality traits. The film implements his legacy as an iconic American figure by depicting him as Lincoln the Emancipator and Lincoln the Protector. Abraham Lincoln is portrayed as a protector throughout the entire movie. In the opening scene, he tries to protect his friend from getting whipped. He comes up with a plan to use silver ammunition to destroy the vampires, which works, and the Union strikes victory (Bekmambetov, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter). This idea of Lincoln being the savior of the Union isn’t a far stretch of how the events played out in the reality of the Civil War.
Lincoln opposed the breakaway of the Southern states, and this led to the American Civil War. Lincoln had preserved the union during it. The Civil War had cost more than many people’s prediction. Lincoln appeared to lose the support from the populations, but Lincoln had enough patience. His leadership and the attitude of pleasing to work with his patience helped him to held the country together. At the beginning, the Civil War was to help the survival of Union, but as the war going on and getting progress, Lincoln gain more trust, love, and support from the general population. IN this situation, Lincoln made the issue of releasing the

These 2 varying perspectives of a strong Union supporter and a Confederate supporter both helped give me a better understanding of the Civil War era. It almost placed me into the time period and gave me a sense of what was going though Americans heads at the time. It was ultimately the people who were unsatisfied with the outcome of the war that decided to take their anger out on someone, this someone just happens to be Lincoln who was in charge of it all. And so with the assassination of Lincoln, so went one of the greatest presidents that the US had
“Abraham Lincoln the Man behind the Myths” exposes and refutes the myths that have evolved around Abraham Lincoln. Most particularly, the scandalous myths showing how he has been misunderstood and mischaracterized by some authors. Stephen B. Oates strives to help the reader distinguish the “mythological Lincoln” from the “historical Lincoln.” Furthermore, Oates explains how the “mythological Lincoln” has influenced our perception of an ideal society.
The Civil War was a war that was fought over the civil and humane treatment of every person, regardless of their outward appearances. It left a scathing scar on the nation After the atrocities that were suffered in the Civil war, the nation need a way to heal it’s wounds and unite again. Lincoln had a battle of his own to fight within the congress for the Reconstruction of the nation, While Lincoln believed that the south had suffered enough and had a long road to recovery, the radical republicans wanted to punish the south. They believed that the act of secession by the southern states was treason and the penalties should be strict.
He defends the South’s position on slavery which is a deeply grounded belief. Abraham Lincoln describes this situation as a disagreement on the definition of liberty in his “Address at Sanitary Fair, Baltimore” (1864). He explains that liberty may mean “for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men” (Forner 287). It is easy to see how this disagreement was heading in a catastrophic direction as the South continued to fight for the whole reason they came to America in the first place. The Confederates were willing to fight to death to defend their definition of freedom because the North winning the war equated to the very same thing in their minds; the end of their lives.
The President can hire and fire the Generals who would have engaged the Confederacy's troops (primarily General Robert E.Lee's forces) and so as Commander-in-Chief he and his best advisers saved the military volunteers and drafted soldiers and other troops to keep fighting on many fronts. He also kept up diplomatic pressures to keep outside countries and their trade from abetting the Confederate exports and deal-making. His moral authority is what sustained the Union Cause during dark hours of Gettysburg (July 1-2-3, 1863) and his oratorical skills are what still endear him to Americans of all kinds ! Lincoln did his best to make sure that the union won the civil war. The Northern armies won the war, and the rebellious states returned to the Union.
Lincoln states "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it; and if I could by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that." Lincoln was strictly for the Union and if he could save the Union and end slavery he would, but his first thoughts were for the Union, and only the Union. He deals with slavery in this manner because he does not want to upset or cause turmoil in the South. Even though the Civil War was going on, he wants it to end and the Union to be whole.

(“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012)”). Abraham Lincoln is known as “honest Abe”, the 16th president of the United States during the Civil War. Vampires are known as being blood sucking, creatures of the night that, in some lure, have extreme abilities and limitations. Abraham Lincoln once stated “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” Abraham Lincoln is a hero for the citizens of America because his determination and courage to ending slavery even if it meant war caused peace in this nation. Slavery was the vital cause of the American Civil War. The north and the south both had their differences on how to run the country. People in the North believed in unity and that slavery should not exist because “all men are created equally.” On the other hand, the South believed in continuing slavery. People tried to talk it out and come to a middle ground after both sides compromising, however that didn’t work and caused war. Ideological differences were a vital role to making the American Civil War an inevitable event.

The Civil War was a war between the union, and confederate states in the United States that occurred from 1861-1865. Many people believed that the Civil War was about slavery and southern states right to defend their states’ rights. The confederates were fighting for their liberty and independence under the leadership of Abraham Lincoln, who they felt was a tyrant. However, the union, was fighting to preserve their territory, that was created by their founding fathers from chaos and dismemberment. President Jefferson Davis believed that the civil war was based on the confederate rights to secede from the union. Jefferson also felt that Abraham Lincoln was to blamed for the start of the civil war, since he was against slavery. Lincoln’s intended goal was to preserve the union, he claimed slavery was not the reason. “If I could save the union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all slaves I would do it, and if I could slave it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that (Shi &Tindall, 2015, pg.465)”. Lincoln told everyone that if the southern states were to return to the union that slavery would still exist. However, many people believed that Lincoln wasn’t being truthful.
