A true friend is someone who is there for you when he'd rather be anywhere else. This quote explains that a friend needs to stay by your side even on the bad times. This shows how Ginny always stayed by Smitty and how she was helping him. Ginny was a coward person at the beginning of the chapter “I’m a coward, and I’ve faced it, and I’ve learned to accept it. ” She’s also a curious person “ I’m feeling very sorry for myself.” Ginny moves to a different town and she didn’t have any friend in the beginning of the school year. That change Ginny to be a different person.” In chapter six, she tells smitty, in feeling very sorry friendly.” When ginny goes to go watch a movie she always told Smitty to come with her. “ Ginny really wanted to make smitty talk. “Over the next couple of days, I began to pick up on Smitty's new language.” “pg.150”. But the problem is Smitty doesn’t talk, so ginny kissed him and he talked to her. When she’s kissed him he got crazy and he went to the mental hospital because he broked things. Ginny and Caulder never left him alone when Smitty was in the hospital because they really cared about him. “ We don’t have to do this,” Ginny said to caulder “For smitty,” he said. This showed us how much Ginny cares about Smitty. The doctor told ginny and caulder what happened to smitty and why he wasn’t talking for a long time. He told them that when he was a kid the babysitter and his brother told smitty that if he ever talks to anyone or touch anyone there’s a bomb in his head and it’ll explode. So as Smitty growing up believe what his brother always told him he believe there was a bomb in his head so he never

I chose to analyze the quote, “A snowball in the face is surely the perfect beginning to a lasting friendship.” on page 48 in The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This quote is very important in this novel because it symbolizes Rudy and Liesel’s friendship when they met at the beginning of the story. The quote shows an ironic scene because a bonding friendship is not normally represented by getting hit in the face with a snowball.

After reading Freak the Mighty and participating in this lesson, I have learned a myriad of thoughts/ideas pertaining to friendship. These thoughts and ideas are much more different than they were before. For example, before, I used to think that a friend is someone who liked the same things as me and never disagreed with me. But now, I know that a friend is someone who will be honest with me, who will be there for me all of the time through thick and thin, and who will enjoy my company. This is far from what I accepted as the truth of friendship, and I owe it all to this course to expose me to the true meaning of friendship
