"Better, A Surgeons Notes on Performance" by Dr. Atul Gawande, allows us an insight on his experiences as he explores the breakthroughs in medicine that was accomplished by people striving to improve their performance. There are three components Dr. Gawande believed are essential for a medical professional to encompass; diligence, doing right, and ingenuity. He defines diligence as avoiding errors and overcoming obstacles by paying attention to details. Doing right as a medical professional is to do right for our patient. And ingenuity, recognizing your failures and be willing to change by looking for solutions for better medical care. It is through his experiences as a surgeon that he came to understand the importance of encompassing these components.
There are mainly four approaches for fixing acetabular fractures, depending on the nature and location of the fracture, namely the Kocher-Langenbeck, ilioinguinal, extended iliofemoral, and combined approaches. The first two are the two mainly used approaches. The KocherLangenbeck is a posterior technique, and therefore, mainly used for posterior wall, posterior column, and associated posterior column and posterior wall fractures. It is also selected for most pure transverse, or transverse with posterior wall fractures, and also for some T-shaped fractures[5]. The ilioinguinal approach allows an anterior access of the hip bone, and therefore, is employed in anterior wall, anterior column, and anterior with posterior hemitransverse fractures. It is also used in most cases of both-column fractures and in selected cases of pure transverse fractures. The extended iliofemoral approach gives access to a larger area of the hip bone, and hence, utilized in more complex acetabular fractures, namely transverse with posterior wall, T-shaped, both-column fractures if difficulties with reduction through the traditional approach are anticipated[5]. Finally, combined anterior and posterior approaches

The scalpel cuts through the leg in a clean slice. It takes a bit of time but we finally get to
The medical practitioners of the Middle Ages were also of key importance to this time. Only the rich could afford Doctors who had been to medical school and trained on anatomy, surgery and medicine. Most people had to see Barber-Surgeon’s, a person, though medically untrained, was thought to be worthy of the job for their knowledge of how to use a razor. At the shop of the local Barber-Surgeon, one could get anything done from having their hair cut, to their teeth pulled, or even an amputation.
Children are not just small adults. They cannot always say what is bothering them. They cannot always answer medical questions, and are not always able to be patient and helpful during a medical examination. Pediatric surgeons know how to examine and treat children in a way that makes them relaxed and cooperative. In addition, pediatric surgeons use equipment and facilities specifically designed for children. Most pediatric surgical offices are arranged and decorated with children in mind. This includes the examination rooms and waiting rooms, which may have toys, videos, and reading materials for children. This helps create a comfortable and nonthreatening environment for your child.
Pathologist is a valuable resource for all other doctors and physicians, who provides necessary and needed information for every patient on a daily basis to ensure appropriate and well patient care and help.
The career I want to pursue in life is to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. I want to be a cardiothoracic surgeon because I find it interesting when doctors on TV shows and internet videos perform surgeries to help save someone's life. I know cardiothoracic surgeons have to spend years practicing for surgery, many years in school, have skill and precision, and have to be in a great medical school. I assume to get into a great medical school you have to be in a college that have either the classes or requirements to get into the medical school that set you on your path to the career you want to pursue. I imagine twenty years from now I’ll be doing what I always wanted to do in life.
Columbia University had been my undergraduate dream school but despite a 4.00 high school GPA and a competitive SAT score, I thought it to be beyond my reach and did not apply. I vowed to never doubt myself again and when it came time to construct a list of medical schools to apply to, Columbia University was at the top. If I said I expected an interview, I’d be lying. There were plenty of me’s around the country who had probably applied to Columbia. Same MCAT score, same GPA, extracurricular activities that were just as impressive. So why would I, of all people, get an interview? When I got the interview invite, I felt a sense of accomplishment. Here I was with an opportunity to go pursue the school of my dreams. Now it was a matter of proving to the admissions staff that I’d be a good addition to their student body. Despite what happens, my interview experience at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons is one I’ll never forget for two reasons:
First Step is to graduate from a surgical technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Most of these programs take one to two years to complete. They combine classroom instruction in subjects such as anatomy, pharmacology and medical terminology with hands-on training in clinical settings.
Since the etiology of achalasia is not known, no cure is available and treatments are directed at relieving or controlling symptoms.

There is a lot to know when looking at a life as a surgeon, and it is nowhere near easy to learn. The first step of the process is making the decision to go to medical school and being entirely committed to it. Then the proper medical degrees must be attained and applications for internships at teaching hospitals should be submitted. There are general job requirements that must be learned along with proper etiquette. Knowing the steps of a basic surgery is obviously the most important part of the job. Pursuing medicine and becoming a surgeon takes many years and a lifetime of commitment to be successful, and even when the process is over some people may not have what it takes to live the lifestyle this job requires.
