Beeeep, beep, beeeep. Vogt pushed harder onto the horn button on his steering wheel. For fuck's sake I'm going to be late. "GET OUT OF MY WAY!" he shouted at the top of his voice to no-one in particular.
In front of his car and for some way behind, there were columns of tanks, troop trucks, armoured cars and motorcycles. German soldiers were everywhere.
Somehow he had managed to get caught up in a major troop movement through the centre of Paris.
Briefly he considered getting out of his car and ordering them all out of his way so he could get past them to his appointment, or perhaps commandeering a motorcycle and riding up through the column. In frustration he dismissed both outlandish ideas, he'd so far managed to thread his way part of

He fell to his knees next to her and was relieved to see that she was still breathing, lightly and slowly, but definitely still alive.
He reached down and started to roll her over gently onto her front so he could pick her up and take her to get help.
As he moved her he saw a small trickle of blood run out of the side of her mouth and he brushed it away quickly with his gloved hand. He pulled her coat round to cover her up, to keep her warm, and then he saw it.
He recoiled as if he had been burnt. He pulled both of his hands away and jumped back to his feet as he stared at the yellow star of David sewn haphazardly onto the left side of her coat. Mein Gott, she's no Aryan, she's a Jew..., he thought and with that he turned around, a look of horror still on his face.
His mind reeled with the thoughts that had been drummed into him about the Jews and what exactly should happen to them in the doctrine of the Nazi creed. His moments hesitation over he left her exactly where she was and hurried back to his car.
As quickly as he could, he got in and drove away at speed.
The trickle of blood re-appeared in the corner of the little girl's mouth in the road far behind
Her eyes fluttered open and rested upon the figure in front of her, her bloodstained hand opened to welcome them. Hesitantly they reached out to grasp her hand, the blood seeping into their white linen glove. She gave them a smile and proceeded to lead them further into the temple.
On the German side, Hitler was running out of options. Russia has destroyed twenty-five German divisions, the worst defeat ever inflicted on them. On the western front, the Allies had captured Rome and were attacking 155 miles north. The D-Day invaders had destroyed another two German armies while they pushed through France. He was being surrounded on all sides and needed to make a drastic move. He reasoned that since Allies had come so far so fast, they would have to halt eventually to allow their supplies to catch up with them. During
“Any second-.” the operator began to say as a shell ripped through the air over their heads into the trench ahead of them. The panzers knocked trees out of their way as they advanced towards the allied defenses.
Bobby waited for the elevator door to close and then hurried over to her. “Are you ok?” he asked. He grabbed her elbow to steady her.
Riya blinked once out of shock then opened her eyes again to make sure of what she had seen, everything wasn't in the usual.
“You alright man?” Will put his arm around him, he was visibly shaking but had nothing but a smile on his face.
"You should get a car silly" she giggled and smiled at braeden, but her joy quickly turned to worry, when she saw the blood on Braeden's lips and hand.
The ground fight between the Nazi and Red Army front was a ruthless and bloody fight. Both sides utilized tanks, artillery, infantry, as well as many other assets. The Red Army was outnumbered, but with the initial warning they had of the invasion, they had time to dig deep into the city with no intentions of a surrender. There was danger at every turn in the city, Nazis and Soviets intertwined often in the same buildings; fighting to the death for their respective

She walked on the street for five minutes until she realized that a black car was following her. She doubled her speed, but not too much so it won't look like she was trying to run. Relief flooded through her when she saw the car speed up the street. She blamed herself for being paranoid.
The trip back home in the rickety, old wagon, was bone jarring to say the least. Every turn of the wheel, tightened a vice around Charity's heart, causing it to feel heavier and heavier. For the first few miles, she sat quietly, thinking exclusively about her life with her grandparents. How they had always been a part of her life; her earliest memories. She had no memory of her mother and father- all she really knew about them was what her grandparents told her. Her grandmother and grandfather, were the only parents she’d ever known. After seeing Eli, she had a faint recollection of seeing him sometime before, maybe when she was small. And, other than Tokola, the old Indian man that came often to the cabin, they were the only people she’d ever
The movements of the trains were primarily conducted by night to increase cover-up and prevent detection. The German army limited their scouting and enforced strict communication discipline during the buildup of their German supply lines and troops. This included and not withstanding forbidding any scouting in the assault zones, minimizing combat patrols, and weaponry operations. The German army utilized the terrain and disguises their techniques to take advantage of the total preparation which made it difficult to detect German movements for the Americans. The logistical result of the intense planning resulted in 29 infantry divisions, 12 armored divisions, 1,500 troop trains, 500 supply trains, 1,420 tanks and weapons, 15,000 tons of
