Lung Cancer Awareness
Lung cancer, like other cancers is a disease attributed by excessive growth of cells and tissues in the lungs unlike other cancers which occur in different parts. This disorder is typically capable of spreading to other parts of the body and affecting them viciously. Cancers of the lungs are also known as carcinomas. A carcinoma is a strain of cancer that grows from epithelial cells primarily developing from tissues in the inside or outside surfaces of the body. The spread of the uncontrolled growing cells and tissue to the other parts of the body is known as metastasis (Reck et al., 2014). Symptoms of having lung cancer include coughing up blood, panting (short repeated breaths), weight loss, and feeling pain in

Treatment of lung cancer relies on the level of damage and the overall ability of the body as at that moment. The standard methods of treating lung cancer include chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. These treatment methods depend on the strain and stage of lung cancer the patient is suffering. Most of the cases of lung cancer lead to death since they come to light at advanced stages hence not curable.
According to (Torre et al., 2015), in 2012, comprehensive statistics showed that 1.8 million people had lung cancer while in the same year deaths resulting from lung cancer was 1.6 million humans. The research revealed that in 2012 lung cancer was the top cause of deaths attributed to cancer in men and a second place in deaths in women after breast cancer. Many of these cases come to light at around the age of seventy years. Life expectancy in the United States of 17% of people diagnosed with lung cancer live for up to five years after they know their cancer status while this percentage and life expectancy lessens in third world countries. Lung cancer increased its spread after the advent of smoking cigarette and was pronounced a killer disease in 1761. Discovery on different aspects of lung cancer began in 1810. Diagnosis of the disease initiated and had a record of 374 cases worldwide in 1912. A German physician, Fritz Lickint, in 1929
Lung Cancer, like any other type of cancer, is the uncontrollable growth of cells in the lung tissue. The main causes that contribute to lung cancer include inhaling carcinogens (basically, smoking), exposure to ionizing radiation, viral infections and even air pollution. These factors basically damage the tissues lining the bronchi in the lung, leading the cancer to develop further (Vaporciyan & Nesbitt JC, 2000). Primary lung cancers that develop in the epithelial tissues of the lung are known as carcinomas and claim the top spot in terms of leading cancer-related death causes. As of 2004, lung cancer
Cancer, it can affect anyone; it can affect any part of the body but what is it? Cancer results from the abnormality in the body's cells. This occurs when the cells divided and grow. Disruption in the system of the growth and division of a cell results in an uncontrolled division and proliferation of cells that form a mass which leads to cancer. The patient outcome for cancer is different for everyone, but it is also different with each type. In the respiratory department, a major type of cancer we will deal with is lung cancer. Lung cancer, however, has different types and stages, but for this paper, we are going to talk about Stage IIIA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In the article titled “Stage IIIA Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer” it states
Lung Cancer is a disease which consists of uncontrolled cell growth in lung tissues. Lung cancer consists of two types, Non-small cell lung cancer, and small cell lung cancer. (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer. The bronchi are the large air tubes leading from the trachea to the lungs that convey air to and from the lungs, and where most lung cancers begin. The body normally maintains cell growth only
Up to 25% of people with Lung Cancer don’t have symptoms, the other 75% of people do have symptoms such as; a new cough, or a cough that doesn’t go away, or changes is a good sign. Or with smokers they sometimes have chronic coughing and if it changes in how severe it is or how often they cough that could be a red flag. Chest, shoulder, and back pain that also does not go away and gets worse with deep breathing is also a sign.
Beneath the lungs, a slender, arch formed muscle called the stomach isolates the mid-section from the guts. When you inhale, the stomach climbs and down, compelling air all through the lungs. Lung tumor begins when cells of the lung get to be anomalous and start to become crazy. As more disease cells create, they can frame into a tumor and spread to different regions of the body. Non-little cell lung growth is a gathering of lung tumors that act likewise, for example, squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. Side effects are a hack that won't leave, shortness of breath, weight reduction, or hacking up blood. Medicines incorporate surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. Lung disease begins when cells of the lung get to be strange and start to become crazy. As more malignancy cells create, they can frame into a tumor and spread to different ranges of the body. Around 80% to 85% of lung growths are non-little cell lung malignancy (NSCLC). There are subtypes of NSCLC, which begin from various sorts of lung cells. Be that as it may, they are assembled together as NSCLC on the grounds that the way to deal with treatment and guess are regularly
From the earliest time in history to today in the modern era, the ideal body type for women has changed in ancient time with the original egyptian goddess Isis, with a tall and slender body and her hips just barely wider than her shoulders and having the perfect symmetrical face. Today, with Scarlett Johansson as the perfect example of having the ideal body type with being a model, actress, and singer. She has a flat stomach that is healthy skinny with a larger chest and bottom which is very desired today to the public eye. Although what history does not reveal is how trying to achieve the ideal body type negatively affects the women. When people learn about the past, they learn about why things were the way they were, and how achieving the
No matter what the cause, lung cancer is a very serious thing. Research shows that it takes several mutations for a lung cancer cell to form. However when the lung cancer cell does form, it begins dividing out of control, causing the divisions to have the same error in DNA. As the mutations continue, the lung tissue starts to no longer be able to carry out its function properly. In some cases, the cancer cells will then spread to other parts of the body, therefore spreading the cancer.
Some symptoms of lung cancer are chronic cough, chest pain, hoarseness, wheezing, swelling in the face and neck, weight loss, fever, loss of appetite, and shortness of breath.
Lung cancer occurs due to cells in a person’s lungs that multiple at a rapid pace, which form a malignant tumor. These tumors in the lungs take away important necessities such as oxygen, and nutrients; diminishes the ability of the tissue to properly function. One of the most type of common lung cancers is Adenocarcinoma, which make up to forty percent of these cases. Smoking is the primary reason for Americans to be diagnosed with lung cancer, with a cigarette containing more than 4,000 chemicals that have permanent damage to the lungs causing long term effects (Conrad 2016).
Brief Description: Lung cancer, as with all cancers, is an uncontrollable increase of cells. It happens within the lung tissue, but it could also go on to affect other nearby tissue and spread to further out than just the lungs.
Lung cancer is a kind of cancer that begins in the lungs. Lungs are the spongy organs in the chest that are responsible for taking in oxygen when one inhales and releases carbon dioxide when one exhales. Lung cancer is the principal causation of cancer related deaths in the United States, amongst both women and men. It claims more lives annually than does breasts, ovarian, prostate and colon cancers, all combined. People that smoke have the highest chances of suffering this ailment. The risk of this form of cancer increases with the number of cigarettes one smokes and the duration that one smokes. Lung cancer causes the demise of more than one million people worldwide
Lung cancer is a malignancy that affects the functionality of the lungs. In the early stages of lung cancer there are hardly any symptoms than in the later stages where they begin to appear. Some of the symptoms that can appear is chest pain, a persistent cough, coughing up blood, weight loss, headaches, and wheezing.
Passion is what builds people’s hopes and dreams, and helps them push their way through life. My passion is my horses and live for animals. Since I was a little girl, animals have played a considerably large part in my life. Not only because I have grown up on a farm, but also because I focused my work, hobbies, and future around them. Five-year-old me would never hesitate when people asked me what I wanted to do as an adult, I would immediately respond with, “I want to be a vet.” Now that I am an adult, this field of work still awes me. Ideally, I would go to college and get my undergraduate degree, and then continue into Veterinary Medicine. After college, I would either go directly into a clinic that has already been developed, or I would

The treatment of lung cancer depends on the type of lung cancer, lung cancer stage and lung cancer treatment goals. It also depends on where the cancer is in the lung, the general condition of the patient, its blood test, and scans but more important of its own choice. Lung cancer is treated in several ways and options may include one or a combination of these treatments:
