The general argument made by Amy Koss in the article “Amazon.com is a 21 century deal with the devil” is that the devil offers many ways to tempt the weak .More specifically, Koss argues that online shopping is a strategy from satan to win our souls. The article states,” They’re offering deals and deeper discounts, closing branches, consolidating staff, trying to fend off the inevitable. We can solemnly recite the roll of the dead, dying and struggling:Macy’s,Sports authority...according to the feds, there have been 60,000 retail lost in just the last two month”(Koss 2). In this passage, Andrea Vuleta is suggesting that Lucifer wants to make our lives easier by being able to allow technology to order materials with just a click of a button.
In the article, “Amazon.com is a 21st century Deal with the Devil” the author Amy Koss makes her piece an argumentative writing. She tries to persuade the reader that the company, Amazon, is cruel and untrustworthy. The author states,”They’re offering deals and deeper discounts, closing branches, consolidating staff, trying to fend off the inevitable. According to the feds, there have been 60,000 retail jobs in just the last two months.” I disagree with the author’s statement and believe that Amazon is just doing what they have to do, so they can make money and build a stronger business. It isn’t exactly Amazon’s fault that other businesses are closing making people loses their jobs. The other businesses must have their prices very high, making
I saw a comercial for Toys R Us on one of the TV's they had ,in the electronics department, and it said that they were hiring people to work at one of thier locations. They used bright colors to attract peoples attention and also a professional spokesperson to read thier message for them. It stated that working there would provide money above minimum wage and would provide good benefits. I think they said that to get peoples attention. It definitely caught my attention because at the time I was looking for a job. The audience was anyone who heard it and needed a job. It was made to inform and persuade people to work there instead of other places.
The article, “Amazon.com Is a 21st Century Deal with the Devil” from Amy Koss, published by Los Angeles Times on June 4, 2017. The death of the American mall is avoidable. It is avoidable by promoting it on the Amazon website, or it is also avoidable by closing down the website. Even if none of this happens, there will always be people who are not lazy enough to get up and go to the mall. There are also a lot of people in the world who do not know about the website amazon.com. For those who do not, it means they go to the mall instead of shopping online.
Verizon Wireless is a big time cell phone company in which for years now, has been widely regarded as the top of competition. Which include companies such as at&t, sprint, and T-Mobile. While there are many other companies these are seen as the tops of competition in regards to others. Verizon in many of its commercials use a variety of rhetorical tactics to persuade you to believe they are truly the best in service. These tactics include providing coverage maps, using colorful balls in which compare between the four companies, and using written text stating facts about their coverage and overall service. While verizon may be the top in service all around I do believe some things are a little stretched.
Throughout the semester, Kathleen Parker has used various strategies that repeated in multiple articles. Most of the strategies were commonly used to boost her credibility to help her persuade the audience. Although there were a large variety of topics discussed in her essays, Parker uses similar strategies to develop those topics.
These offerings are, in part, a way to offer a tangible lure the uninitiated customers by allowing them to interact with Amazon’s technical platforms, such as what is done in Apple store. Moreover, Amazon is exploring the use of Amazon Go stores. The Amazon Go stores are a kind of convince store concept that will allow a shopper to swipe a code on his or her mobile phone at the entryway turnstile, and then simply pick up and take whatever item they wish from the store, those items being automatically added to their digital cart and immediately paid for when they leave the store. (Robischon, 2017) These types of brick-and-mortar store fronts are very different than what is offered by Walmart and are ways for Amazon to establish a physical approach of retail to best satisfy the customer. This innovative focus should play dividends down the road as instead of simply opening one type of store across the United States, such as what other physical retailers are currently doing, Amazon is seeking to break the proverbial retail ceiling and transform how consumers shop. It may take some time for Amazon to catch Walmart as the global retailer; however, through innovation and making the shopping experience easier, quicker, and more enjoyable, Amazon will most certainly overtake
Beyond Amazon’s core markets of electronics and media, Amazon is making a big impact in the retail market. Analyst John Blackledge believes, “Amazon will become the largest retailer of apparel and accessories in the U.S. market next year, passing Macy 's as the leader” (Deagon, 2016, para. 2). Amazon announced that they will be launching their own private label dress shirts for men and expand into dress pants, sports clothing, and sweaters. In addition to that, Amazon has plans to open small retail stores at malls to showcase their electronic devices and hardware devices (Deagon, 2016).

In certain circumstances it is not appropriate to tailor products to specific racial groups. The notion of separating clothing products often leads to cultural appropriation. Once one racial group copies the mannerisms and ideations of another racial group there becomes a great deal of controversy. However, certain products need to be tailored to African Americans. For instance, Shea Moisture and Carol’s Daughter which are hair products tailored specifically to the African American population. These products tailor to the kinkiness of Black hair which many White’s do not experience. Nevertheless, there becomes a hypocritical rhetoric when one is comfortable with certain companies use of racial segregation and not others. For example, when White

Almost every inhabitant of the Colombian Amazon has an interesting story to tell about their home, which is one of the most amazing places in the world. The Amazon provides survival experiences, exotic food, extreme recreation, and a unique livelihood to all those who have lived there. However, the character and future of many has also been shaped by a context of poverty, harsh violence, restricted opportunities, geographical disparities and gender inequity. Almost everyone who has loved and lived under the magic of the Amazon has also lost loved ones. Many have died there, either by direct armed conflict or by the weakness of the State regarding law enforcement and insufficient ability of services to meet basic needs.
Amazon is the big online shopping conglomerate we know today, which is known for their presence in the online shopping scene. They started with Jeff Bezos’ leadership, growing to where they are today. Amazon is a powerful company, however it is not without its problems. The company’s problems regard its strategies with growth, compared to Patagonia, leading them towards unsustainable results (LMPGS). To bring forth my proposal, I will talk about the narrative of Amazon’s start. Also, the definition of sustainability and why it’s relevant to the proposal at hand. Thirdly, a counter-argument will be brought forth on a practice used by companies that counteract sustainability. The proposal to change practices, such as the waste of packages, and the communication with suppliers. Amazon could be made more sustainable by studying other, less growth-oriented companies.
