I have had many positive role models in my life including parents, coaches, and teachers. Yet, as I grow older I notice myself modeling my behavior more and more after my grandfather. I owe my intense competitive drive to genetics and exposure to an encouraging environment. Part of this environment was witnessing first hand what my grandpa was able to accomplish from a young age. My grandfather, Charles William Taylor, grew up in a single-parent household in a small, northern Minnesota farm town. Having personally visited Crookston, the desire to move out of this isolated area would be reason enough to become as successful as possible, and head to Boston. He was the buzz of the town... a star athlete, high-jump state champion, and the football and basketball captain at his high school. Bill Taylor would be the first (and only) person from Crookston to attend Harvard College.
While at Harvard, Grandpa Bill led the football team to their first ever Ivy

Grandpa appreciated my sense of ambition and was even a bit flattered by the fact that I idolize him. But, he gave me a piece of advice that changed my mindset entirely. He advised me to use this time to be my own person, do what I love, and be who I want to be. That is exactly what my grandpa did, taking initiative to be a three sport athlete at Harvard. He also said to enjoy the fact that I get to surround myself with intelligent new friends from all over the globe. Coming from a small town, Grandpa was exposed to more diversity than he had ever been. He still keeps in contact with his college friends such as David Rockefeller and his football friends after all these years. Lastly, he advised me to develop the skills to be able to compete with my peers in order to better each other. No matter what field I decide to go into teamwork will be a key component in the workplace and in everyday

I want to serve as a Resident Assistant because I value the importance of making a difference in the Saint Mary’s community, as well as serving as a peer leader who builds community and serves as a voice for their residence. Building an inclusive and cohesive community is very important. I want to ensure that the college living experience is a positive one and serve as a positive role model, just as my resident assistant has. Building healthy relationships with your residence, hall director, and fellow residence staff is very important. It is important to show others that you are approachable and a person who can deal and trust with during diverse situations. I will exemplify the Lasallian Core Traditions, by demonstrating a sense of belongingness
One of the greatest lessons I have learned as a high school athlete has been how to overcome adversity and to be resilient after failure. As with any sport, particularly basketball, many valuable character traits and qualities are obtained such as: an incredible work ethic, a competitive nature, and the ability to be an effective leader. If I had not been a basketball player, I would be lacking some of the important characteristics that make me a well rounded and whole person.

(1)There are many things people fear but more often than not its comes to misunderstanding or the unwillingness to learn And in the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the character Boo or Arthur Radley is a great example of this.(2) Boo Radley is a NEET so as such he stays inside his home without leave, as such the children are naturally intrigued and afraid of him due to his mysterious nature.(3) As the story progressed Boo is generally described in a negative manner, the people in the town usually only talk of the negative things he may have done, as such the children create this fantastical image of him an image of fear curiosity and pity.(4) The descriptions the children give of Boo are so extreme that they make him nearly inhuman "Boo was about six-and-a-half feet tall, judging from his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any cats he could catch, that's why his hands were bloodstained -- if you ate an animal raw, you could never wash the blood off.
Imagine living in a world where teens are doing drugs, pressuring their peers, and trying to be just like the models in magazines. Unfortunately, that’s the world we live in today. What do these teens need? They need positive adult role models. It is important for a teen to be influenced by positive adult role models while growing up; because if they don’t have positive adult role models, teens can be influenced by negative media, negative peer pressure, and teen drug use.

The criminal justice system has been around for thousands of years. It has not always been as formal and structured as it is today, but has been a constant part of society nonetheless. In The Scarlet Letter, the perception of sin deviates from person to person. The deviation occurs on the severity of the sin that was committed and who committed the sin. Focusing on Hester and Dimmesdale, it is easy to compare the consequences of coping with the perception of their sins, on a private and a public level. The outcome of dealing with their sin is extremely different. The theme of morality affects Hester and Dimmesdale as well. They have varying levels of morality and this changes during the course of the novel.

Feeling like a role model was an amazing sensation. Working as a customer experience representative was emotionally validating in itself. Yet when combined with an audience, the work became doubly fulfilling. In some ways, it boosted her self esteem and drove her to become the best version of herself. She noticed that when her daily life was made transparent, her words and actions became happier, more altruistic, and more intellectually interesting. She had been told that this would be a positive effect of going transparent, but she had not anticipated other changes. She had not anticipated that being transparent would actually redirect some of her less than perfect habits. The camera’s influence caused her to think more carefully about the way she presented herself. When she thought of her viewers seeing her choices, she felt pressured to make healthy choices. Thus, she abstained from sugary foods, and consumed socially acceptable levels of alcohol. When she thought of the camera catching her consuming aspirin, she was ashamed of the image that this might project and rerouted her behavior. Thus, she entered a life where she abstained from the parts of her life that she found imperfect. Being watched was a way to curb bad behavior. Mae found this freeing, and she was revered as a role model for this projected perfection. This in turn gave Mae the responsibility of bringing light to the lives of her viewers. This was a duty that kept her going day to day.
Throughout someone’s life they have a role model that they look up to and admire. Whether it be a super hero, a relative, or even a friend, they still look up to that individual. My role model comes in the form of a five foot five man, with short black hair, and a face just like mine. He’s my father and even though he’s no super hero, he’s still definitely the person I look up to the most. Whether it be supporting my dreams, needing someone to talk to, or needing a ride to a date, he’s always there for me. When it comes down to it he’s the person I admire most, my role model, father, mentor, and most importantly my friend.
