Taking a photograph of myself that signified something of what it means for me personally and maybe other students like me to be a university student today does more than just record a moment in my life. It shows the world what I care the most about. There are some people who agree with me but that doesn't mean that everyone in the world have the same idea of what it means to be a university student today but in my opinion it means hanging out with your good friends and doing things together. In my picture you see only the upper half of three different young women standing next to one another. The first girl is standing on the far left side of the picture. She is wearing a translucent chocolate brown shirt, it's sleeves reaching down to her elbows, three slim bracelets resting on both her wrists. A tan colored scarf with dark brown skulls printed randomly all over is wrapped loosely around her neck, she is wearing a pair of blue jeans and a tan/off white pair of soludos shoes. She is also carrying a light blue purse which is hanging around her torso. The girl is positioned closer to the camera. She is turned where her right arm is fully seen while her left arm is only somewhat visible, her entire right leg is also seen completely while her left leg is still somewhat visible as well. Her head is turned towards the audience. This girl has a deep chocolate brown hair and it is somewhat wavy and reaches just below her shoulders. She is smiling with her teeth showing and her
It is hard to determine the effect on the other people that is in the image; however, I
The image that was given was about a man covering or protecting the girl, there was three man who looks like a judge or a counselor, and it looks like an accusation or confession. This image is about the play that was written by Arthur Miller, The Crucible. The play was about witchcraft that was observing in the village, and because they were Christians who has strong faith.in God they prohibited witchcraft. They don’t like witchcraft not because this can ruin their religion but it is also a threat to their society. It the image connects to the theme because since the witchcraft has happened in their village, they were investigating people and killing innocent people.
She looks to be sitting next to a man, perhaps her husband, or a date. Her fiery red hair and dress give the only splash of color in the whole photo other than the building outside. She is fixating her eyes on her nails while her bored facial expression and slouched posture make me believe she was very bored, and unexcit-ed. The man next to her seems to be carrying a conversation with the waiter. He is wearing a suit and steel grey hat, drinking what presumes to be a cup of coffee. He also is slouched over the dark mahogany bar, Staring at the waiter with a deadpanned look on his face. He was probably there to unwind from a long day. On the other side of the bar is another man. He is also wearing a suit and hat, so it must be the fashion of the century. His face is could not be revealed through the angle of the picture, but you can notice his slouched position and crossed arms show his day was stressful. Since no one appears to be looking at him he was probably just enjoying his bever-age and eavesdropping on the other conversation taking place. The waiter who stands behind the bar is wearing a white uniform and sailor hat. He has blond hair and seems to be engaging in a conversation with the man next to the women. From my perspective he is cleaning a glass, during the slow time at the
Fun, I can’t imagine anything more fun than to represent my school and classmates in a manner that we can look back at in several years to come.I have looked at my parents yearbooks from their childhood, it brings laughs and some very funny conversation to my family.
Also, collaged images of woman 's genitalia were cut out and spaced all around the portrait. The spaces were carefully used to show that the collages were floating around the woman. The artist used overlapping technique to show certain collage cut-out appear closer to the viewer. He pasted some collage over and some behind the woman that you could see through with the overlapping. The collage images were abstract that you could barely tell that they were buttocks until you zoom in and see them close up.
Fashion plays a major role in a person’s life because it is expressing how one looks and feels about one’s self. Clothing, accessories and makeup communicate fashion, which are all successful ways of bringing attention and persuasion to popular fashion brands. However, can also lead consumers to higher standards thinking that they can resemble the professional model posing in the advertisement. Like a Cover Girl advertising fade proof, waterproof, and ignore- proof mascara and new intense eye shadow blast that has a photo of Drew Barrymore behind a light grey background with light blue eye shadow around her entire eye. Likewise, revealing Drew Barrymore’s greenish blue eyes with perfectly curled black eyelashes that one can have from the use of this particular new Cover Girl eye shadow blast and mascara.
Everyone has his or her own ideas of what the ‘college experience’ should include and be like. Some thoughts on the subject include going out a lot, meeting lots of new people, and dating many different people. Other people consider it the education, and finding someone to settle down with.
He has both arms up in the air above his head. His right hand is open as though he is waving to someone. His left hand his grasping an object of some kind. The other, that is standing slightly behind him, is a small female child. She is also wearing a mask that covers all aspects of her face. Her mask appears to be a white female’s face with the eyes blacked out. The mask has light brown eyebrows and dark brown straight short hair. The female child is wearing a long sleeve white and black dress with a pattern of bats and spider webs on it. The length of the dress stops a little above her ankles. She is wearing white stocking with black flat heeled shoes that resembles Mary Janes. Her left hand is open as through she too is waving. Her right arm is propped on the little boy’s shoulders. Her body is tilted and her head is looking straight forward. Both children’s hands or showing giving us the hint that they are either Caucasian or
Behind me, there are two ladies and a young boy. Both women appear to be of Asian descent. One appears to be approximately forty years old and the other looks to be in her mid to late sixties, and the small boy that appeared to be
It was one of many that looks almost identical. It depicts me focusing on the camera, with a simple gray t-shirt, blond-brown hair, a black choker, with a background of my room. Additionally, The angle of the camera is down facing upward at me. It is an up close photo that seeks to highlight my face and my mood. When making an observation of my form of visual representation through self portrayal I am able to recognize how Encheva’s ideologies can be applied to my selfie. Firstly, the angle of the camera is what sticks out most keenly to me. Encheva states, “the camera height is also significant: the view from below (low angle) makes the represented subject look imposing and awesome…” (151). As the taker and point of focus in the photo I am able to elaborate that my intentions were just as Encheva eluded. It is difficult to admit how important self image is. Furthermore, this is more than just a photo that I took just to have fro myself as it was a photo that I soon after posted on Instagram. While I am not one that seeks validation from others it does make one feel “cool” or is a slight confidence booster if the photo receives a number of likes of
The first thing I think of when I think of a University degree, is success and how proud my family will be of me. To me personally a degree means a lot. A college degree means success and the fact I made it through 4 years of college. When I was younger I never thought I would be successful in college, I never had the best grades or the drive to homework and assignments, as I went through high school I knew I needed to go onto the next level and further my education. I knew if I didn’t I would disappoint many people in my family, which is one of the main things I never want to do. A degree would show everyone I was able to stick to something without quitting and better my life for the future. A degree to me personally gives me a challenge I want to overcome and accomplish, I don’t want to just accomplish this for my mom or the rest of the family but I want to show myself I was able to do it. A degree would be a huge accomplishment and it’s something I will get no

Like Sontag, I believe that taking pictures is a form of liberation that enables people to release anxiety and increase their power by constructing a better society.
In the “Photo-Cultural-Ecological Journey” activity I learned that everyone is shaped and molded occurring to their experiences in life. I was able to perceive that regardless of how good or bad your experiences were, it serves as a life map and provides a picture of where you once were and where you are headed. The five pictures I choose to present identify personal perspective in my life. It categorized and acknowledged different parts and milestones in my life, where a lesson was learned in every step of the way.
Beginning the observation I was focused mostly on the girl in the first picture mostly because she was larger and more attention grabbing than any other of the people in the picture. The second picture seemed like a happy family and what looked to be two girls one who looked more of a tomboy due to the pulled back hair and baggy sweatshirt. Picture three is what caused me to rethink my analysis it was a boy who looked nervous and unsure of himself. I then went
