Gabby could feel her head buzzing and her body tingling. The bottle of booze had worked its magic and if it where anyone else she'd want to make good use of such tingly feelings. But she couldn't go there, not with Alex, not when she knew what it would do to her heart. God she wanted him, she had for a very long time. Spent nights playing out what it would be like as her hands did the best they could to play his part. And afterward she'd hate herself for being so weak, for wanting him, and for worse needing him in her life. Gabby leaned her head against the couch and watched Alex stew for a moment. He clearly wasn't expecting her reaction to the necklace. But how could he really expect anything else? He knew her better than anyone and yet he couldn't seem to understand how shattered she felt around him. It made her wonder if he had ever really known her at all. …show more content…
Her breathing slowed and despite how hard she tried to fight it sleep tugged at her senses. She heard Alex's voice, but the words seemed lost as she sank deeper into her sleepy state. She had been working all day, and current events had been a roller coaster of emotions. Gabby was honestly drained, and before Alex could get his apology out she was out. A soft snore was the only response he received when finally done with his admission. Gabby had fallen asleep, her legs still draped over him as she rested back against the
Lila lay on her bed staring at the ceiling thinking over the events of the evening. The more she recalled, the more she was mortified for acting like a love sick, slobbering idiot in front of not only the most beautiful man she’d ever met, but he was her best friends cousin of all things! Lila groaned, burying her head into her pillow. She tried to console herself by thinking she would never see him again. She could avoid him by simply not going back there. It wouldn’t be too difficult to do. She would never have the guts to venture to a club like that on her own. This is exactly the reason that Rachael had taken her there. Lila was trying to convince herself he was charming to all the ladies. He worked at a night club. Of course he would
“I…” Nyame trailed off, taken aback by his reply. She watched wordlessly for a few moments as he guzzled down another glass of wine. That should have stopped her. Alex drinking so much was a sure sign that he was beyond the anger point. She could visibly see the change in his eyes, the way he spoke where biting in tempo. It was all downhill from here. There would be no reconciliation tonight and somewhere in her heart she regretted that but it was background noise to her enraged thoughts.
Mac left before the Sheriff or anyone else got to the center as he wanted to see how passable the trail was and if he could take the any vehicles up the hill. It was the smallest vehicle they had and it might make it. In several places, the trail wasn’t wide enough to take the quad so he gave up the quad and walked up. The distance to the site Jackie described wasn’t far.
Allie had not heard much of what Thomas said; she was in shock still, from seeing him standing there looking at her. When her eyes locked onto him and then his eyes, it was as if they were completely alone in the room. She blushed at her thoughts because they had suddenly gone to those few days and nights they had spent as a married couple. As he kissed her, her thoughts were in bed with him- his
As sick as it was Gabby needed a drink, and she hated herself for it. Pulling her knees up Gabby rested her head against them and wrapped her hands around her ears as if to block out the world. It felt as if she were being sucked down the rabbit hole, her world spiraling out of control. And the only anchor she had was dying next to her, and she was the one that killed him. "fuck." she sobbed softly tried to block out all the other people arriving. She wanted to crawl into her own skin and disappear, but she couldn't do that. At least not until she knew Hunter would be
Uncomfortably, she sat in the restaurant; the romantic ambience almost felt sickly, the dim lighting, the candles and the classical music humming in the background. It is not that she did not enjoy the romantic side to love; it is just that she was here with Billy, a man who now seemingly loved her. The last man who loved her and who had taken her to this restaurant was Ric; it was the night he had confessed his love for her, the night they kissed in the moonlight.
The first night he had been back, without Amanda, when his mom had forced Nick, his best friend, to take him home after he’d spent forty eight hours awake, he had fallen asleep in the car and Nick had tucked him in his bed and left. Jordan had woken up in the middle of the night, alone in his too-empty room and nearly had a heart attack when he had remembered what happened. He had not been able to breathe properly for over an hour. He had been able to keep the unwanted attacks at bay ever since, ignoring anything that could set one off. Eyes drooping, he stumbled to the couch and closed his eyes, falling into a dark, dreamless sleep.
Erza and I faced Malise, Erza was smirking and Malise spoke, “Whats got you all smily?”
John woke up to his screeching alarm at 5:30, slamming his hand down on the snooze button subsequently. “Fuck”, he bellowed in anger. He arose from his bed and rubbed his eyes as he entered his bathroom. John winced as he turned the bright light on, he grabbed a towel then hopped in his morning shower. He lathered up then rinsed off, doing the same to his hair. He dried off then headed downstairs and poured himself a cup of coffee. He turned on the tv, the news channel was showing live footage of a bus crash on the highway. He let out a snide laugh, “sucks to suck!”
one long and dark afternoon, jose patel was lying in his bed contemplating on which sword he could use to overtake the champion owner of the belt, gringo geco. as the door knocked,
When Olive first offered for Pearl to see the workings of the insular parts of her life. Pearl was to say the least apprehensive and uneasy. To her a respectable woman would never hold herself to such low standards and live life unmarried for so long. Nevertheless, as she got to know Olive she became more intrigued to the life she lived and the people she shared it with.
It is also assumed that the act of telling a story can provide insight into past, present and future events (Espinoza, 1997). By going through this process, individuals can find the importance of certain events and assign roles to people who are a part of their story. This act can allow a client to find new meaning and understanding to their reality (Espinoza, 1997). Not only is a
When he sees Gretta captivated by the music at the the party, Gabriel aches to have control of her feelings. Though Gabriel recalls their romantic relationship and is overcome with an attraction for Gretta, this feeling isn't derived from love but in his desire to control her. They had Me Strapped into the chair. Fat, rugged leather straps ran across my ankles and wrists binding my constricted body to the resting place of my sanity, or insanity. The room was the essence of blank. It reeked of alcohol, and control. The walls were cocaine white on a brand new car, not a speck of dust anywhere in sight. The ambience did not change even when the nurse opened the door. I watched as her face muscles didn’t move an inch as she looked at me. She was as blank as smooth rock on a pondside. I wanted to see what she had to say. Why wasn’t she speaking to me. Nurse ratched stood by and watched as my muscles started to swell from the strain i was expunging to try and break free. The old leather flexed up and down as the fibrous
Rick forced himself to stay awake until Kate returned from her apartment, which had become increasingly difficult since he had taken his pain medication. Nevertheless, he was still awake when she walked through the door.
