Johnny Cash could have let his childhood affect him in a negative way or a positive way, but chose to let it be positive. He did not use the let the fact that he grew up in a poor family stop him from chasing his dreams. Cash, like Keith Urban said, was a wonderful example of following your dreams. However, his adult life wasn’t always an easy ride, he encountered plenty of bumps on his rise to success. His addictions continued and after an almost fatal overdose and close-call car accident, his wife had had enough. They were divorced, and Cash moved to Nashville. Where Jimmy Carter had lived, 4 years old, electricity was not common. Carter was a studios boy who wanted to avoid getting in trouble. At the age of ten, he started working with his father at the store. He had also loved to sit with his father and listen to things like baseball games and even politics, of course, it was a battery operated radio.
