Many years ago I was a Navy hospital corpsman and had been trained in Navy search rescue and as I in-flight medical technician. I was sent to a small Medical Clinic in the Deep South with 5 other search and rescue corpsman. There never been that many search and rescue corpsman for that facility. The norm was 1 or 2 and our duties would be conducted on the Flightline for aircrew duties. We were all tasked with building an acute care system that worked in the old run-down portion the clinic. Needless to say we were like minded and did an amazing job. The old unit used to see 7-10 patients a day. We were able to provide care for an average of 40 patients in a four hour time period, daily.
