A Brief History of the American Kennel Club

As a host I, insert individual/club/kennel’s name, agree to pay the following expenses listed for the RKC Judge/Representative to judge/represent my show listed on the above date. As the Show Host, I will ensure that the RKC Judge/Representative receives the best accommodations that can be provided. If for some reason I should have to cancel with the hired RKC Judge/ Representative, I will notify them no less than 30 days prior to the event. I understand that it is my responsibility to reserve all that is agreed upon listed in Section 1 on page 1. If said host cancels a show less than 30 days out and the judge/rep has a signed agreement, the host will be fined $50.00 by the RKC, which will then be reimbursed to the judge/rep for their inconvenience.

In fact, the American Kennel Club actually fights to stop laws against banning puppy mills. The AKC’s main goal is to promote the breeding and up keeping of producing purebred dogs. They also sponsor many other programs that work to benefit dogs, including agility training programs. Though it is hard to imagine that they can keep up with the amount of puppy mills, (an estimated 10,000 in the United States), “the AKC Investigators and Inspections department conducts more than 4,000 kennel inspections each year” (akc.org). They attempt to keep up with the neglect of these animals, in order to continue promoting responsible breeding of the purebred dog’s that they cherish.

Introduction: Today I will persuading my audience the benefits of getting a dog as a pet. Dogs can offer companionship, protection and even improve your health. This canine organization recognizes three hundred and thirty nine breeds of dogs which are classified into ten groups based on the dog’s function or size. There are various unique breeds that can fit into one’s specific lifestyle, giving no excuse not to have a dog to compliment ones personality.

This has led to the belief that dogs can provide company, affection and support to people who are going through a difficult time or who feel lonely. Dogs have aided humans in tasks such as hunting, livestock herding, and guarding.
