Team Work Readiness Analysis
In this paper I am composing a brief analysis of my organization’s SharePoint team. This analysis will bring together different information that has been composed within my MGMT 581 Team Building class. The purpose of this analysis is to determine my organizations readiness to support team work. Also, a SharePoint team improvement plan will be included.
Team Analysis
In an earlier assignment I created a Team Analysis. The team analysis was composed around my current SharePoint team within Salt River Project (SRP). The SharePoint Team is a self-managing team. My Team consists of two SharePoint developers, two SharePoint administrators, two SharePoint supporters, and a college intern. I am a SharePoint

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude
The SharePoint team is well rounded in knowledge and skills. We have entry level positions covered with our intern, all the way to extremely technical positions such as our developers.
Motivation and Effort
SRP has an implemented bonus system which is called EPIC. The manager sets the team EPIC around high level goals for the year. These goals are usually created around the successful completion of known projects needing completion. If my goals are attained by the dates specified, I am awarded an EPIC bonus. My EPIC bonus is usually awarded at 1 percent of my salary for each goal attained. Team members are very motivated to obtain their EPIC, and I have noticed this to be consistent with others as well.
Coordination Strategies
The separated skill sets create an environment that does not need much in the coordination strategy area. My team knows exactly who is responsible for each task as soon as a requirement is stated. However, the problem we have currently is a couple of individuals are consistently handled a larger percentage of the work. The largest complaint around our current planning and task structure is that it is unequal between team members. I am an administrator and have noticed the unequal load. Team members with knowledge tend to become the go-to personnel to assist others their tasks.
Team Performance
The SharePoint Team is responsible for the SharePoint software and
Teams are an integral component of organizational success. They take on many forms and functions and can have various structures. Teams also conduct a wide variety of projects with goals of innovation or mitigation. An example, from my experience, of a project that required the execution from a team was the establishment of a finished goods inventory program within a paper manufacturing company. A project of this magnitude required that a diverse and multifaceted team be assembled.
Byran Hogeveen argues that the Canadian youth justice system is centered around ‘vengeance as justice’ concept. Vengeance is an act of taking the law into one’s hand and gives a punishment for a person who had done something wrong. It does not care if the result of punishment will in turn, change a person’s behavior. The aim of vengeance is to make the punished person suffer as his victim did. But how is vengeance related to Canadian youth justice system? The youth justice system promotes a tougher punishment and prioritized public safety, rather than youth’s need (Kramer, 2011). It solves the youth’s problem by sending youth to detention facility rather than looks at the real issue behind youth’s problem. As mentioned by Hogeveen, it is injustice in the justice system.
Set limits on what members can do Teams perform better. Understand individual strengths and weaknesses Optimistic role on diversity Smaller teams are more effective Effective with just enough people to complete task Gives an option Allows to have high and low performing teams All members must share workload Delegate responsibility Allows teamwork
Part of being a manager for a company is managing teams. These teams can be created for many different reasons and can have various goals put upon them. Companies want managers that are capable of constructing teams that can effectively meet goals and set standards. The four types of work teams most commonly found in organizations are: problem-solving, self-managed, cross-functional, and virtual. In completing the simulation for this course, I will use cross-functional work teams as a foundation for my investigation of effective team management.

Assessment at the team level considers team communications, dynamics, and ability to reach consensus as meetings. For that matter, the amount of work completed and the cycle time for the entire process are evaluated as part of the assessment exercise. On the other hand, assessment at the individual team member level considers how the individual cooperates with other team members, communicates his or her ideas and opinions, and participates in team activities. In this case, the number of viable ideas that the individual presented is determined, accuracy considered, and turn-around time for completion of a unit of work factored. Thus, I learnt that team analysis can be conducted from the team or individual member perspective. The knowledge I acquired from this module will stand me in good stead with the six-week practice placement when I will be required to work within teams (Peacock 2006).
This fable was a great way to promote the importance of a team and its functions. This book had many highlights throughout the context and I would highly recommend it to leaders of a corporation or of that of a team like setting. This book offered many great implications of the model and how to use it in many diverse settings when trying to build and manage successful teams.
The team analysis major areas of concerns are communication, development, and support. General Electric (GE) has established teams to bring about new and creative ideas for the future world of innovations. Because GE’s commitment to the development of advanced technology and employee growth, the company selects members with different levels of training or experience in order to establish new ways of creating electric equipment. This quantitative ability and collective thinking is the reasoning behind forming a team analysis. After the completion of the organizational and team analysis, a task analysis will aid in determining whether a company has
I thought you post was familiar, after having been through Harvey and Rita. There was that fear of the unknown when one returns after an evacuation. After Rita, it was a week or more before residents could return to our homes. I believe it was for our safety, with power lines down and roads blocked with trees, etc. Per our instructions for peer responses, I selected the elderly population and the challenges they may face post disaster.
Teams have become very common and effective since they have proven to be effective in areas as cost reduction, developing new and innovative products, and improving quality (Effective Human relation, 2008). Team development is supported, in fact, required by almost all managements today, but still it may take quite a long time for the members to learn the task and activities and to fit themselves in the particular environment. Team work may vary as the organization or company varies. Team work involves a lot of important aspects such as relationships, cooperation, learning, leadership etc. since a team works together in
A theory of team working that details the stages of team development that are typical to any type of team
Teams consist of personnel with varied backgrounds, experience, education, and intellectual ability. These differences will, by nature lend themselves to varying perceptions in business, its problems and solutions, which result in
Fires on the Plain is truly the most depressing, haunting, and sad story I have ever endured reading. The complete abandonment of the Japanese soldiers on the island of Leyte by the Japanese Army is revolting, as well as the complete disregard for each others well being among them. It becomes a battle between one another for survival. The lack of comradery among the Japanese soldiers is dumbfounding, and leads me to believe that it may very well have been there demise. The weaknesses we see in Tamura and the other soldiers not only have a great impact on their unfortunate outcome, but are also a result of a weakness within the Japanese Army itself. The awful fate of these soldiers, at the hands of their
People in general are social beings and have a primary need to have relationships with one another. Therefore, working in teams comes naturally to most and often receive the most effective results. A successful team can provide an organisation with numerous benefits such as reducing costs and improving productivity. Unfortunately, there are certain challenges that come hand in hand when working in teams such as an unevenly divided workload and conflict within an organisation. However, organisations are social systems and for them to function effectively there needs to be an emphasis on the importance of relationships that exist within the entity. The best way to utilize
Many organizations today believe that the use of work teams will allow them to produce better products and provide better services, faster, and at lower costs. Using a work team approach can reinvigorate productivity and service provider motivation, and better position an organization to deal with a rapidly changing environment. However establishing effective work teams is not something that comes easy. Though, the benefits of effective work teams within an organization are very substantial, it takes alot of hard work and dedication on the part of management and team members to develop, implement and maintain effective work teams.
