A 911 recording was released by Ohio police on Monday after a family of two college students and their mother were killed in their home.
One night I was working as a 911 dispatcher for Mohave County Sheriff’s Office and I received a call from Las Vegas Metro Police Department with an attempt to locate. Law enforcement agencies typically put out an attempt to locate for missing or wanted persons or after a crime had just occurred and a suspect was at large. I took the information from the Metro dispatcher over the phone. I did have another option to advise the agency to send a teletype message which is a secured, electronic message that can be sent nationwide among state and federal law enforcement agencies. This type of message would have been detailed and documented on paper, but because I was “so” busy I made the decision to take the information over the phone. Policy
