They walked in the house and all went to their separate rooms. Calliope’s room was just down the hall from Quinn’s, so they walked up together. “This is so difficult,” Quinn complained. “At least you can get your power to work a little bit. The whole time we worked on my clairvoyance and all I saw was a charcoal abyss of blackness,” Echo said. “It makes sense though,” Quinn said. “What do you mean?” Echo asked. “You don’t really believe in yourself. Quinn looked down the hallway smirking as Echo ran off. Echo slid into her room and locked the door. “How could she say that?” Echo asked herself, facing the door. “No, it isn’t true, and there is a way to prove it to her, though,” a voice said from behind her. Echo jumped and turned around. In the corner of the room, leaning against wall was the same man who gave Echo’s book of life to her. “What are you doing here?” she asked him. “I came to check up on you, and give you advice,” the man said. “What advice do I need from a man who won’t tell me is name, his age, or even why he can’t tell me anything about him?” she asked him, temper rising. “I guess you’re right,” he said, dumbfounded. “But you have to promise, that if I tell you anything about me, you will never breathe a word of it to anyone.” “I …show more content…

If I remember correctly, last night you were going by Ella,” he teased. She smiled. “The book you brought me helped me realize who I am, and how much I hate Nova,” she said, angrily. Ash started laughing. “What? I thought Nova was your enemy too,” she said, confused. He stopped laughing, but still smiled. “She is, but you being angry is hilarious,” he said. “Hey,” she whined. “So, if you want to show Quinn that you are powerful and you do believe who you are, you need to tell them that you want to become your true self. It will bring out the most power in you,” Ash said. “You’re right. I was planning on doing it in the morning anyway, but it could prove to her that I am serious about this and I do care about the people who live here,” Echo replied. There was a knock at Echo’s door. Echo walked over to the door and locked it long enough for Ash to escape. She unlocked the door and looked out. Echo looked down and saw a very short older lady with pointy ears and a large gray bun on the top of her head. In her hands, she held a leather book engraved with beautiful designs.
