September 11, 2001, America experienced a very tragic event in New York City. Two planes hit the the north and south towers on full impact and they both tumbled down.

The events of this day will forever be remembered by the people of the United States. American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the first tower of the World Trade Center at 8:47, and Flight 175 crashed into the second tower at 9:02. Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 9:41. About 20 minutes later flight 93 crashed in Shanksville(Sullivan). The first tower was hit between its 94th to the 98th floors. In Virginia on September 11, 2001 4 planes were hijacked and 1 crashed into the pentagon and the rest crashed into the twin towers. It killed 3,000 people. More than 6,000 people were injured. No one knew this was going to happen and many people were affected.

The passengers on American Flight 184 thought that they were safe, but when terrorists hijacked the plane, the passengers knew they were in danger. This turned out to be the flight crashed into the Twin Towers on September 11th, 2001. After the attack was over their was 3,000 bodies found. The 9/11 memorial was constructed March 2006. The memorial stands in New York City. The memorial means a lot to the people who lost family members and close friends in the incident. The 9/11 attack was a real surprise and a shock to all the families who lost some family members.

On September 11, 2015, the nation shared a moment of silence remembering the terrorists attack 14 years before. The World Trade Center Memorial commemorates the September 11, 2001,attacks and the bombing that occurred at the World Trade Center in 1993. The memorial can be found at the former location of the Twin Towers in New York. These fountains that rest in the footprints of the towers are a powerful reminders of our nations history and all the lives that were lost that day. This memorial is ultimately successful because it evokes emotion, whether that be sadness or possibly a feeling of serenity or stillness.

It took one man to create this disastrous day of September 11, 2001. Almost 3,ooo lives were taken and many more injured. The attacks were carefully coordinated. It was the deadliest day in history for New York Firefighters. A terrorist group named Al-Qaeda had planned and performed an attack on the city of New York and Washington, D.C. Four hijacked planes crashed into a series of important buildings. Starting around 8:30 A.M. an airplane crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center creating chaos in New York City. Then around 9 A.M. a second airplane crashed into the south tower, but this was just the beginning. This was not the World Trade Centers first terrorist attack; in 1993 six people were killed by a bomb set up by terrorist (DoSomething.org). People jumped from the buildings rather than get burned alive or inhale too much smoke because they did not wanna suffer. When both towers collapsed, people and buildings went down with it. Most of the steel held together, but also broke into pieces and is used in a memorial also known as Ground Zero.
