When the idea of spending three days with my brother in a tent was brought up, I was not too excited. When I got the news, I even shivered a little because my brother wasn’t the easiest person to get along with to say the least. Little did I know, this camping trip would turn out to be something special. This trip to Glacier National Park, Montana taught me a lot, not just about the outdoors, but about family. Through the events of spending that weekend in the woods I learned that family is more important than I had thought. The 3-day adventure started when we got lost on our way to the campsite. We had just entered South Glacier Park campsite when we learned of our mistake.
“I know we are going in

Neither my dad, my brother, nor me were that excited about the delay. The 2 hour drive from South Glacier to East Glacier seem to go even slower than the 6 hour because of the frustration. Having to sit in the backseat with my brother wasn’t the greatest idea my dad ever had either. I was a clear vent for Henry to take out his frustration on. As the car ride finally came to a stop, we had finally made it. Our campsite seemed glowing as we rolled out of our rental car into the sweet smell of fresh air. We had just enough time to set everything up before night came. At that time I had realized the long car ride had been worth …show more content…
When the normal person thinks of fishing they think of a peaceful warm day of relaxing and getting away from life. Going into the fishing trip, thats what I was hoping for. Well, what transpired in the coming hours could be considered the opposite of that definition. Our guide was a local of about thirty who really enjoyed his job. Filled with excitement, he prepared the raft for our fishing adventure down the river. As we floated off the bank into the river, I discovered how much I hated fishing. This is when my brother and I began to bond. Yep, the thing that finally got us to speak without screaming was hatred for one of America’s favorite pastimes. It was for good reason too, riding down the river in a raft combined with the cold temperature and occasional bump created a very uncomfortable ride. Once the ride was over with, we combined for a total of six fish, 5 from my dad, one from my brother, and zero for me. On the last day of the trip, we went for a scenic hike in West Glacier. We left at approximately 7:00 am to have plenty of time to explore the trails. We decided we’d go for the woods hike which included 10 miles of what seemed like neverending woods. What we didn’t know is that we were in for a treat. About an hour into the hike we began to hear some rustling and grunting in the
Thank you so much for your patiently waiting on this. I will defiantly consider you 30 day notice to be the day that you first were asking on the change in enrollment. Thankfully I do have the ability to make the care that you need flexible. At this time of year enrollment doesn’t tend to change much, so even if the contract is canceled, I am positive there will be spots available to Clara and Caden, whenever needed.
See what I mean, this weekend went by horribly slow. We really need to do something about a Three day weekend. Students would get more sleep. We have more time to prepare for a possible test the coming monday. We´d have more time to do homework that was maybe assigned over the weekend. We would have so much more time to spend with our friends and family. The teachers would get more time to prepare for lessons throughout the week.
It was a normal Wednesday afternoon, english class had just ended and I had only a little homework. I met my friends like normal during break, but when I was walking to my fourth period spanish class I started getting a splitting headache, as if something was trying to push through my skull. I was trying to pay attention, but I still had the headache going on, refusing to relieve me of my pain.
After the 4 days, I saw that if I ate a good breakfast and lunch nothing changed. I was still happy and my energy was high the rest of the day. But on Sunday, I didn’t eat a lot and I was using a lot of my energy over an extended period amount of time, my energy level dropped very quickly.
When you mess up or run out of time, life will make it difficult to accomplish a perfect agenda, so you get to make-up the lost item on rest day. However, please remember that simply skipping the program for lack of discipline, is not part of this Shift!
If your teacher is really nice to you and all the sudden they are rude the next day. Well it is just because they are having a bad day. It doesn't mean they don;t care they just an’t happy at the moment. Other kids probably have got on the teachers nerves then they just got in a grumpy mood. This is what I think the next day will be a better day then the last.
On a blazing hot summer early morning with the city traffic roaring! And the hot sun blazing, birds chirping and the smell of fresh green grass. Me and my family were packing and getting ready for our yearly powwow trail trip. My mooshum and kokum were they’re usual selves laughing and cracking jokes, I and my cousins knew they weren’t that funny but laughed at their jokes anyways. After we were all packed and ready we all piled into my kookum’s van and set off to our destination with the hot sun reflecting off the black pavement. The drive to Muskoday reserve was long and tiring, the van was humid and making us irritated, so I decided to roll down my window to let the summer air cool us off, the cool breeze was flowing and the music was booming! A bit later we arrived to our destination with our eyes popping taking in all the scenery around us, mind you this was our first time being in the reserve Muskoday. The excitement of being there and meeting new people was over whelming, the anxious feeling of just wanting to run off and enjoy the scenery with my cousins and friends I had met before from the powwow trails we took yearly.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to track your food for 14 days? I did just that. I believe most of us live on a day to day basis tracking what we eat, how many calories we intake, and so forth. However, sometimes the reward is not at the end of each day; sometimes the reward it is at the end of a lengthened period. Using the My Fitness Pal app on my phone and computer I could effortlessly track what food and nutrients I ate during a 14 day stretch. The app did all the work for me and I highly recommend trying it out. It is very accurate in the amount of each measurement it lists. At the end of 14 days I observed specifically but not restricted to total number of calories, sodium, sugar, and protein and compared each number to the DRI recommended daily intake
Wooden (qtd. in Baer) states that "success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming". Many students end up taking classes that they do not necessarily need or classes that are hard for them to succeed in. The result in not being able to drop a class within the certain time period results in students receiving an W (withdrawal) on their transcript, which not only affects their overall GPA, but may even eventually lead the student to end up on academic probation. As a junior at Cosumnes River College I think it is very important that the drop date for classes to be extended to a 3-week time period because students end up taking the wrong courses, there would be no negative affect on mental health, and most importantly students would have a higher chance of success.
Ever since my passion began in the 7th grade, the amazing people I have come across, stories I have heard, and memories I have made fishing are innumerable. A few of the many guys I have met fishing have become valuable mentors to me, which of whom I have bonded with and become closer to. I have shared lots of experiences by spending time and traveling with these men, shaping me as a person. As humans, we learn so much from one another, and through fishing I have learned not only many old traditions and modern fishing methods, but life skills that I use in my day-to-day
I have been fishing as long as I can remember. It has been a pursuit, an adventure, a call, a metaphor, a meditation, and a coping mechanism. Being a young boy in the 1960s and 70s, reading Thor Heyerdahl adventures and watching Jacques Cousteau, National Geographic, and astronauts orbiting the earth and walking on the moon on television, the spirit of adventure and the wonder of the natural world were the air I breathed. Moreover, my family was of a religious bent where my sisters and I were more likely to be told to be quiet and pay attention on a nature walk than in church. As opposed to the somehow self-evident holiness of the sanctuary, my parents took on the nurturing challenge of opening our eyes to
Every single day I have to ride my bicycle throughout the city of Miami. The perks I would say is that it is safer for the environment by causing less pollution in the air and I get a good cardio workout every day. The negative outcome of not having a car however is that I almost get hit or what feels like killed every other hour on the street. But how the person perceives this situation is really what is at hand. I take the time every once in a while and stop near a park or by a lake and just admire nature in its vast beauty and how truly wonderful it is to be alive, most people do not see how much of a blessing it is to just wake up every single day and being healthy. Having to worry about the weather is another issue that I have to be constantly worrying about, but thankfully at the end of the day it is just a little rain, unless it is a tremendous storm which dramatically increases my chance of being killed while riding my bike.
My story begins on our third day at the camp. This was just one of the several interesting events that had occurred while in Montana. While the day was young, the wonder of what activities might be available trekked our minds. The water seemed just too
The sight of the sun shining down on the grass reminds me of what happens after dinner. The food is ready, the sound of my mom and dad coming behind us and getting us for dinner and the yummy smell of what we will eat. My twin sister, Lauren who looks like a mirror me, and I go to our kid table while my parents eat at the dinner table. My mom and dad put our food in our special Care Bear food plate. We eat and talk about our day together until we finish dinner. Now it's time for our family walk!
It is almost noon on a sunny day in July. We just got off the plane and we are now in Denver, Colorado. My stepdad, Bill, is going to get us a rental car and we will be off to Yellowstone National Park. “How long will we be in the car?” I ask my mom. “It’ll be about eight and a half hours on the road,” she replies. This is unbelievable! First, I’m forced to deal with all of this traveling, and now I find out I have to sit eight and a half hours in a car with my family? Great, this is just great.
