1. How did you feel while doing this activity? At first I was not sure what I should put, but then when I starting thinking about it, it came pretty easily. However I did have a difficult time thinking about what I can’t change because I try not to focus on that. 2. Do you focus more on what you can change vs. what you can’t change? I focus more on what I can change because I prefer to have a positive outlook and learn from my past experiences. I don’t like focusing on things that I cant change because mostly they are in the past, and there is no point to dwell on them. 3. How has this activity impacted your thinking, if at all. Please explain. It made me think of specific things that I think I can or cannot change. Before I would just
English class has never been my strong suite. I always had to work twice as hard in English then I did in any other class. Writing paper always had me stressed and overwhelmed, I felt discouraged in my work. l never seemed to be able to get to the level I wanted to. I would try my hardest and paid attention in class, but when it came to writing the paper none of that seemed to help. I think that my experience in English Composition 1 has helped gain and grow in some areas, but I don’t think that it highlights a well-written college essay. Some elements that I worked to improving was introduction paragraphs, tone, style, and thesis statements.
Reflecting on this course over this semester, there have been many lessons learned that will be valuable, as we enter the business world. Our first lesson was to learn to work together, as a team, to prepare a short memo, long memo, letter, and email for use in the business world. This is a lesson that will experience many times as we do our daily work. Punctuation and grammar are so important to present to the client and other organizations that we are professionals. It could mean the loss of a sale or acquiring new business. It’s like dressing for work; looking professional or unprofessional.
I have many times I sometimes wish I could change but then I realize that if I didn't do what I did or if others didn't do what they did, I wouldn't be who I am today. The only thing I want to change about myself now is become more successful and you do that by moving forward, not looking
Life is an ever-changing reaction to the different situations that we are exposed to. Sometimes these opportunities for change are forced upon you, such as requirements at work, at home, or at school. Other times these changes are brought on by your reflection of things that have happened in the past.
As a new immigrant, I took the accuplacer test and went straight to 111 English level. So, English 111 course became my first college English class. It seems like a great achievement for a French speaker. Nonetheless, this performance linked to significant challenges. Even though I am a fighter and an optimist, I was frightened about my academic achievement for this semester. The problems became bigger when I took my first practice test on sentence structure (fragments and run-ons) and got a D. I was frightened and felt that I will have to drop the class. However, I decided not to give up. I started working hard and had a V+ on the next test. This positive grade energized me until now. During this semester, I have much homework and practices which allow me to identify some strengths, weaknesses, and gave me lots of skills for my English 112 class and the future.
When she was asked what she would change about her past, she said, ''Probably everything but if you're happy with your life today, you have to be appreciative of every single moment that led you to get here.''
Being able to grow and change excites me! I do not want to be a static character in life, I want to be volatile. Consistency is a fallacy. Instead of rejecting change and holding concrete beliefs, I choose to hold liquid
2) I do spend a great deal of time questioning the purpose and goals to my questions. A few issues that I am trying to work through are not problems that can be worked through in a matter of days or even weeks. I will give you an example. I have been raised Baptist all my life. My grandfather (who raised me), was a preacher. Here lately, I have become disenchanted with the church and have considered switching to a nondenominational church.
Although I created the artifact for APS 10, a classroom newsletter, for an assignment for Literacy 1, I understand that the importance of constantly communicating with the parents of the students in the classroom. This is vital for student success. I
Throughout my live, my behavior towards change has evolved into a more mature acceptance of the inevitable. As an adolescent, I failed to contemplate the reasoning behind changes that occurred within my life. I
What has changed my attitude about my life is joining the piano club when I was a high school student. I had been playing the piano fo six years before joining the club, so I thought I could play very well. But one day, my music teacher told me that my skill of playing did not improved. I was shocked, and onsider what was wrong. I practiced it much harder than before. Finally, I was able to play the piano much better. Actually, I had ignored some problem with playing but I could not notice it because I was not eager to play very much. From my experience, I found what is important is not to think I can do something perfect. I will do everything, thinking how I can do it
The saying "I wouldn't change any of it because it made me who I am" applies greatly to my life. From the age of ten I began to realize that my home life was different than my friends. I would often find myself questioning what made my family dynamic so different from my peers. I didn't fully understand until I reflected upon my childhood, did I see that I was growing up in a substance abuse household and my parent was a drug addict. It is
Change is everything. If you have the ability to change your whole way of thinking of your life and to change your attitude from bad to good is is the whole reason why people become great people .When you have a bad attitude, your whole life not going your way and to just change your aspect on life is a huge step in the right direction. being capable to have a good attitude on life and have people respect you more than they had ever in your their lives could make a big difference in your life. pretend you woke up one day and you decide that you are not going to care about how you look, so you put on a dirty shirt, holes in your jeans and a jacket that smells like a scunt.
Change is a very hard thing to do. Every day I wake up to people trying to change. For instances people in the world today is probably wondering how they can change somethings they did. I bet the lady cop who shot the 12-year-old boy Tamir Rice at the park would have thought twice before pulling the trigger and killing the young boy. The guy who was molesting his daughter and then decided to kill her after she got pregnant probably wouldn’t have done it if he hadn’t got her pregnant. I’m sure there are people in my family that have things they wish they could go back and change. Take my mom for instance. She was doing so amazing on the gymnastics team, and then she quit just to do drugs. Another reason would be when she starts smoking cigarettes at the age 14, because now it’s hard for her to stop. If I could live my life over, there are three things I would change. I would have brought me a more updated car, I would have been more outspoken as a kid & teen, and I wouldn’t have cut my sister.
