Tatiana Sinkinson Mr.Saad English III March 16, 2018 My 15 Minutes I have 15 minutes and the spotlight is on me, that is just 900 seconds to change the world. Andy Warhol once stated “In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes” I am sure many would use those 15 minutes for money, stardome, and the praise of others. I have a very different vision. I have an earnest dream of using my moments of fame to be a proponent for mankind. My “moment of fame” would consist of having a crowd of open-minded people where I can pragmatically preach tolerance, peace, and appreciation to those willing to listen. As I stand there with all eyes on me I will begin by articulating the values I hold and the importance of accepting others beliefs. No matter
“Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the requisite for many diseases.” –Hippocrates, 460-377 BC. If a Greek physician could make this statement over 2300 years ago, why is it such an under-exposed theory today? As stated in Chiropractic First, written by Dr. Rondberg, a chiropractor of 35 years and founder of the “Chiropractic Journal,” Hippocrates “believed that only nature could heal and it was the physician’s duty to remove any obstruction that would prevent the body from healing” (8-9). These “physicians” are called chiropractors today, and their goal is to remove subluxations, the displacement of two or more spinal disks that causes

They want to add 90 min to school every day. They will hate that and it will be a long day and I get home late and not do my home work then I would go to sleep late because they added 90 min. All the class will be longer it would be long day for me we will stay later and now it gets dark outside and I will have no time to play outside then I just go inside and sit and play my game. We get out at 2:50 then if they add 90 min we will get out at

Three hours. Three long hours of driving is a long time when you are a little kid, who is always anxious to move around and release energy. The final road has arrived, one long dirt road snaking through the woods. Every year the familiar bumps in the road rattle the car as we make our way to the driveway of our cottage. Years have passed now and the outside does not look as run down as it used to, due to multiple improvements. Because I was that little kid, the need to jump out of the car and run around and stretch became a must. Jumping out of that car I remember exactly how the dark wood of the cottage seemed to melt into the woods when the sun went down. The scenery symbolized the first night of the family vacation. Even though I know the
On May 2, 2012, the National Football League lost one of its elite players to suicide: Junior Seau. Seau played for the Chargers, Dolphins, and the Patriots during his professional football career and was a 12-time Pro Bowler before retiring in 2009. Three years after his retirement however, Seau committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest with a gun. This greatly shocked the football world and its image of Junior Seau as a person, but it soon realized the cause for his action. Shortly after Seau’s death, researchers examined Seau’s brain and found that it contained a disease known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy which is formed

I want to reach out and touch the people in the most remote parts of the world. Every day I wake
Improving health and getting fit does not require spending hours at the gym every day. A seven minute workout is sufficient to get the body in great shape, feel health and enjoy the benefits of exercise. Unlike other routines that take an hour or more every day, the goal of working out for only seven minutes is getting in shape on a tight schedule.
Friday being the sixth day of the week it is named after the Norse (primarily southern Sweden) Goddess Freya. Also spelled Freyja, meaning The Lady. She is invoked in matters of love and fertility. She is also thought to be the same as the Goddess Frigg in other Germanic areas.
I've been waiting for this moment for my entire life. Not because I was tired of my surroundings and my everyday routine, (okay, thats a lie) but because I set myself up with expectations of what my year in Grade 12 would be like. To be perfectly honest, I expected it to be straight out of an Disney Channel Original Movie, High School Musical to be exact. Everybody from all corners of the school - the jocks, the nerds, the art kids, the kids that read in the hallway everyday at lunch that seem like the nicest people on the planet but you never make the effort to talk to them - all coming together for their last year in hell- I mean I high school, rejoicing in song and dance, running down the hallways throwing their finished assignments in the air, going out and having the time of their life every weekend, and finally feeling like they belong. I don't know about you, but I'm looking at these expectations I set for myself in Grade 2, and thinking "Buddy, you got it all wrong." For some people this is reality, (well most of it) and this year will in fact be one of the best years of their life. However, for me I just feel stuck; I am continuously hungry for more. More adventure, opportunity, relationships, situations, something
In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four-year degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four-year degree. In most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling required for a teaching career.
