Module 3 Journal The two articles I want to remember focus on the impact of substance abuse and stigma on individuals after they are released from prison. One of the articles, titled "The role of substance use treatment in reducing stigma after release from incarceration," is a qualitative study that delves into how substance use treatment can help reduce stigma among newly released inmates with substance use disorders. This particular research involved 24 individuals who received care in an outpatient treatment facility after their release from incarceration. The study aimed to explore their personal experiences with stigma and how the treatment they received helped alleviate it.  The other article, "Anticipated Stigma and Stigma Management Among Those to be Labeled 'Ex- con,'" is a quantitative study that specifically looks at the stigma experienced by male prisoners labeled as "ex-cons." This research aimed to understand the relationship between stigma and individuals who carry this label. It involved analyzing numerical data to make predictions about effective stigma management strategies. RESOURCES: Moore, K. E., Wyatt, J. P., Phillips, S., Burke, C., Bellamy, C., & McKee, S. A.
