Brain development is very crucial in the first year of a child’s development. Sensory, motor and cognitive skills are affected First Year if Life During the stage of cognitive development, infants construct an understanding of the world by coordinating sensory experiences such as seeing and hearing (Santrock, 2021). The infants brain develops rapidly within the first year of their life. During that time the weight of the brain triples in size and the neuronal connections numbers dramatically increases. These changes affect the infants physically and controls their motor skills, for movement. Positive Experiences During the stage of cognitive development, infants construct an understanding of the world by coordinating sensory experiences ( such as seeing and hearing) -Physical comfort, play, and attentiveness play a vital role in a childs development. Physical comfort is developed from the bond the child receives from their caregiver. -Play helps in a baby cognitive growth and motor skills.
