2 Evaluation at the Agency I am focusing on Tiffani's case. She requires interventions to address the physical and sexual violence she has experienced. Identify one evidence-based intervention for each issue (from peer-reviewed journals). How do you know these interventions are “evidence-based”? Refer to the main characteristics of evidence-based practice (EBP) in your explanation. An excellent example of an evidence-based practice (EBP) strategy for dealing with lingering memories of long-term physical abuse is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Personal experiences, rather than external factors, are the primary determinant of how one interprets and makes sense of one's environment, according to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) (Wang et al., 2023). The results show that people may recover from traumatic or stressful experiences by changing their perspective. Critical to CBT is its emphasis on setting and achieving goals. Individuals may have a better grasp of their perceptions and more agency over them through the process of reflective thinking and environmental analysis that is the goal of these sessions. The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for Tiffani is to encourage her to question her assumptions and ways of thinking. Tiffani may increase her self-control by learning to differentiate between her own views of other people's acts and her own. The evenings when Nate and Jimmy touched Tiffani are still fresh in her mind. These recollections are still very much alive and always there in her thoughts. The most effective evidence-based practice (EBP) solution for dealing with these traumatic memories would be to provide psychopharmacological medications. Numerous medications are available for the treatment of most mental health disorders in the medical specialty known as psychopharmacology. While medicine is an important part of therapy for some, it is also used in
3 conjunction with counseling and other approaches for others (Wang et al., 2023). For instance, trauma-focused mental health treatment approaches supported by science should be the first line of defense against symptoms associated with childhood sexual abuse. Medication may be required to alleviate symptoms and improve the efficacy of psychotherapy in children whose symptoms are severe or persistent despite treatment. Summarize the main information about the interventions from each journal article— research design, sample, sample size, and findings/outcomes in a 1-paragraph annotation. Wang, W., Chen, K., & Zhang, H. (2023). Effectiveness of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Among Maltreated Children: A Meta-Analysis.  Research on Social Work Practice 33 (8), 913-928.  https://doi.org/10.1177/10497315221147277 Victims of physical abuse, which is all too frequent, may have emotional and social problems later in life. One study found that trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral treatment helped children who had experienced physical abuse overcome emotional and social maladjustment. In this therapy study, a randomized control group was used. The Iranian city of Kermanshah was the site of a random assignment of forty elementary school-aged boys who had suffered abuse to either an intervention or control group. Clustering was the basis for this selection procedure. Using the Sinha and Singh adjustment questionnaire, the patient's level of social and emotional maladjustment was assessed both before and after trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF.CBT). Ten one-hour sessions of trauma-focused CBT were conducted with the intervention group. The intervention group significantly reduced scores on measures of social and emotional maladjustment, in contrast to the control group, whose scores showed a statistically significant change between the two sets of tests. This study's findings suggested that TF-CBT therapy reduced emotional and social maladjustment in children who had experienced physical abuse.
