Informed consent in emergency situations
Week 2: Course Project Topic Submission
Devry University HIT220
My selected topic is Informed Consent in Emergency Situations.
Informed permission is required for the ethical and legal legitimacy of emergency interventions in emergency medicine because it protects the fiduciary relationship between the patient and the clinician.
Competency, disclosure, decision-making ability, and consent documentation are the four components of informed consent.
Using the findings of my research, I intend to examine the four aspects of consent, discuss how emergency cases differ, and explain why consent may or may not be required depending on the
severity of the issue.
In a few cases, emergency medical treatment is administered without the patient's informed consent. In my research, I'll go over the foundations, present examples, and explain when this is
suitable in certain scenarios.
