I feel as though Barbara main reason for approaching Bill about him exclusion from the decision to purchase a new electronic health record system is because it will affect her team the most and she wants to make sure the correct requirements and protocols are being met. 2..) It seems as though HIM would be integral in assisting with a decision such as purchasing Electronic health records system. Why do you think HIM was excluded from the review process?

It seems that the committee did not realize the importance for HIM to be there. They were pretty much sold on the facts that were given to them without looking or questioning any further. Bill also stated in the video he did not know that she would want her department (HIM) involved.. 3.) Barbara presented several questions regarding system features during her discussion with Bill. Do you think these questions helped Bill understand Barbaras concerns?

Yes, I do believe this help Bill understand Barbaras concerns because he did not realize all the facts of purchasing an EHR systems.

In order to prevent exclusion of key subject matter experts, by outlining the project goals and bringing in all directors that specialize in the matter who can help elaborate further on the changes being made; this allows them to express any concerns. Some techniques and tools that can be useful to ensure correct resources are engaged by testing the EHR system making sure it aligns well within the company.
