Explain the value of analyzing organizational behavior from the individual, group, and organizational perspective. What do you think is the benefit of understanding these three perspectives and their impact on organizational behavior overall? Organizational behavior (OB) is studying human behavior in an organizational setting. OB consist of analyzing of three different factors: human behavior, the organization, and of the organization itself (Griffin, 2020). Organizations are made up of different behaviors from the individual perspective, group perspective, and the organization perspective. Individual Perspective Several people don't understand that the individual perspective is important in making an organization become and maintain success. Those who work in organizations will adapt and adopt numerous identities. The identities can include being a consumer, employee, etc. These individuals in the organizational setting are typically employees and are given tasks daily that need to be met for the day or at some point during the week. These individuals contribute to the daily success of the organization and are needed to keep a business from failing. These individuals can be evaluated by the business for behavior development or to increase production rate to continue helping the business succeed. Group Perspective In most organizations, individuals consist of teams and groups. There is individual productivity, but then that must come together in the group. For example, when you look in the technical word of software developers and coders, they do mostly work individually, but in some companies, those individuals are working in a team or group. When coming up with code for a website or for the business, that individual can make a mistake and would need help discovering the mistake. This is where the group comes in, they
will help identify the mistake and fix it to increase the group success rate. This also helps establish trust, reliability, and respect for each individual. Organizational Perspective Most corporations need to think of the people who work for them and of the organization themselves. They need to establish a safe space for their employees and for the customers. They need a structure that will improve employees performance and still put their employees first. There needs to be a design involved for those who want to promote will have the opportunity. They also need to remain loyal and trust those who work for them. Griffin, R., Phillips (2020).
