Create a Security Group 1. What is a security group in EC2? How is it used? A security group in Amazon EC2 is a virtual firewall that controls traffic to and from EC2 instances. Security groups operate at the instance level, based on individual instances rather than the network interface. They control both inbound and outbound traffic, with inbound rules controlling incoming traffic and outbound rules controlling outgoing traffic. 2. To launch instances in multiple regions, do you need to create a security group for each region? Yes, you need to create a security group for each region to launch instances in multiple AWS Regions. Security groups are specific to a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and region, so they can only be used within the VPC they are created. 3. What are the features of Security Group in EC2? The features include; inbound and outbound rules, custom and default groups, and connection tracking. 4. In this assignment you added a rule to allow inbound traffic on TCP port 3389 to support Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). What was the port number and what did this enable you to do?
