Describe
three
order-picking
systems.
Provide
an
example
of
when
each
one
would
be
appropriate.
1.
Wave
order
picking
In
wave
order
picking
there
are
a
group
of
orders
are
assigned
in
a
short
interval
of
time
which
is
called
a
wave.
It
is
more
efficient
and
faster
order
picking
because
in
this
all
the
departments
have
to
pick
up
their
items
at
the
same
time.
There
is
no
need
to
wait
for
one
department
for
other.
They
can
pick
up
all
the
multiple
orders.
A
warehouse
has
to
pick
up
4
orders
then
they
can
pick
all
four
orders
in
one
go
instead
of
going
4
times
for
the
pickups
which
are
called
a
wave.
2.
Zone
order
picking
Zone
order
picking
involves
the
division
of
SKU
into
various
zones
where
different
workers
may
pick
up
their
order
from
different
zones.
This
order
picking
method
is
time-saving,
cost-saving
and
effective.
For
an
automobile
industry
they
need
to
pick
up
the
tyres
from
the
different
zone
and
glasses
from
others
and
at
the
end,
they
will
transfer
all
into
the
same
zone
3.
Batch
order
picking.Batch
picking
is
a
process
where
all
the
identical
orders
are
picked
up
at
the
same
time
instead
of
going
all
the
same
location
again
and
again.
For
example
-
If
the
company
needs
to
pickup
same
item
which
is
needed
by
different
customers
then
"ey
will
maintain
the
list
of
how
many
items
are
seded
and
pick
all
of
them
at
one
time.
