HIS 100 Module Three Activity Template: Revising Questions Replace the bracketed text below with your responses.
Identify the topic you chose to explore:
[Tulsa Massacre]
Identify a historical perspective that could be applied to your historical event.
[ An historical perspective that could be applied to the Tulsa Massacre is structural racism perspective, when it comes to structural racism it is used to limit the opportunities, resources, power, and the well-being of individuals that is based on race/ethnicity and any other statuses. When this perspective is applied to the Tulsa Massacre, systematic racism played a significant role, in the event that was caused. Applying this perspective to the Tulsa Massacre, we have a better understanding because of the racial tension that was happening in Tulsa, between African Americans and White Americans because of the success of African community (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.)]
Revise your research question based on evidence from your primary and secondary sources.
[How did the consequences of the Tulsa Massacre have on society and how did it effect African Americans and their way of life?]
o
When it comes to my current research question, I do not feel that it needs to be revised, the reason I would say this is because it would help better understand more into detail about the consequences that society had to face because of the Tulsa Race Massacre. And to learn more about how this event would later on down the road affect the lives of African Americans or even
the laws that were established, because though it was an historic event in itself, digging further more into the changes that had occurred and how it established the life that we have today.
Explain how historical perspective and evidence from sources influenced your finalized research question.
[ Going more into the historical perspective has change my views on the event of the Tulsa Massacre, while doing more research on this historic event I had learned more about its cause and what occurred during that time. Especially back then when segregation was a big issue, and it led me to want to know more about how race was not the only major part in the event, but how has this also caused for there to be long term effects for African Americans.]
