With the advancements in technology and people flocking to the cities for jobs, urban capitalists benefited the most during this time. Connect the Evidence for Point 3 Due to the changes in Labor, new laws were implemented in order to change the course of the economy. Demonstrate Complex Understanding The expansion of cotton production in the South, enabled by technological advancements like the cotton gin, increased the demand for enslaved labor and deepened the divide between the North and South.
