Rehabilitation Program Proposal 2 Rehabilitation Program Proposal Mental health has become such a huge topic talked about in regards to how people are suffering. But rarely do people talk about the situations on how to help fix the mental health issues or how to help prevent them. Mental health issues are very popular among all generations but most they hit the homeless population. The reason the homeless population is hit so hard is due to the lack of stability and lack of medical that the people have access to. The homeless population is immediately having to learn to be in survival mode all the time which causes a mental downward spiral. With this rehabilitation plan I would like to try and target the homeless community and help them find mental health stability. In order to do that there would have to be some planning in regards to doctors that would give their time. There would have to be assistance in helping these patients apply and be approved for Medi-cal health insurance. Once the health insurance is approved that would mean the patient can start receiving care. With this care at least once a week we would strongly encourage by building a strong relationship that is trusting with the patient. When the trust is build the patient is more than likely to follow what you say or what one would recommend. During this once a week visit the patient would see a Psychiatrist who would evaluate the patient and put them on medications as needed or as they see fit. Not only will these patients have access to psychiatrists they will be seeing at least once or twice a week phycologist. The Phycologist will help them process thoughts and emotions that they may have that are delusional or that they may be having a hard time processing. Along with seeing the doctors in the facility we will have things like yoga, and other things that one can do to help with their inner peace that they can participate in that will help with their mental health. If one thinks their health isn’t important because they are homeless or they can’t afford things so they just let their mental health go
Rehabilitation Program Proposal 3 that doesn’t seem fair. There are many causes for mental health issues. Chemical imbalances in the brain is one cause, trauma or drugs and alcohol will cause mental health issues. One might say that mental health will not change over time but there are ways to take care of your mental health for it to change in time. One must work at it and continuously work at it but the mental health will get better. If the patients than choose to not come back to the facility it is something that we cannot force them to come back to but we can send out a person or two from a team that will be put together to check on the patients to see if the treatment is something they want to continue. The patient will be able to see from past patients how the integration process after getting the mental health treatment helps get back into normal society. The patient will be shown how they can or might be able to hold a steady job if the treatment at the mental health facility helps and how they will be able to live a normal life as close to normal as possible.
