THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION 2 Community Resources The American Heart Association Introduction Cardiovascular infections are amongst the number one causes of mortalities and morbidities where more people die annually from CVDs as compared to any other cause. It is estimated that 17.9 million individuals died from heart diseases in 2016, which represents 31 % of the global mortalities. About 855 of these deaths result from a heart attack and stroke (World Health Organization n.p). Strokes and heart attacks are often the acute occurrences that are caused by a blockage that prevents the flow of blood to the heart. A significant number of heart disease deaths have been seen to occur in low and middle-income nations. Due to the prevalence of CVDs, various organizations have stirred efforts to address this health issue. The selected organization The American Health Association is a non-profit organization in America that funds CVDs medical research, educates people on healthy living, and fosters cardiac care with the intent to minimize the deaths that are caused by CVDs and stroke. The organization is known as a national voluntary health agency that is presently headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The vision and mission of the organization are focused on continued efforts for longer and healthier lives. The Vision Statement The AHA vision is of a society of healthy communities where people reach their highest health potential. The Mission statement

The AHA represents, leads and serves health systems, healthcare settings, and related organizations which are responsible to the society and devoted to health improvement. Advocacy for equal opportunities The AHA core mission mainly focuses on its workers. At AHA, it is evident that one will see that the organization works to provide autonomy, creates a setting that enables good experiences and ideas to enhance the organization’s mission to work to advance healthcare in the United States (Benjamin et al., 2017). At AHA, it is evident that one can find support in their career through the training and development opportunities and programs in expanding their knowledge and skills. The organization helps in reaching their potential and advances people’s profession; they apprised of new employment opportunities in the organization. The AHA team is a diverse community that comes from a broad array of backgrounds and training education across American offices and about 500 people. At this organization, diversity is seen as an important aspect of life and growth of the organization and progressive enhancement of services for partners, affiliates, and members. The organization prides itself on its workforce and commitment to equal opportunities for all people. Funding and legislation considerations of the organizations The organization has gained trust from supporters, donors, and the general public, making it feel best in maintaining the earned trust in making the association’s finances transparent. The American Heart Association continually meets high standards of premier evaluating charitable organizations. Most revenues that are recorded by the American Heart Association come from sources rather than a corporation. The possible sources comprise contributions from people, estates, and foundations and also investment revenues and earnings from sales of educational

The financial sources from the organizations help AHA campaigns and programs effective in achieving its objectives in the improvement of CVDs’ health of American citizens and saving more people’s lives. The corporate associations are needed to comply with AHA corporate relations policies that are approved by executive staff and a committee of state volunteers. The American Heart Association advocates for affordable healthcare coverage for people by assuring them of protection from unexpected medical costs (Antman et al., 2017). AHA efforts to make sure that the healthcare coverage is comprehensive of high quality, its administration is simple and affordable to bot the society and people. AHA guarantees exertions of expanding healthcare access, which includes coverage for evidence-based preventions, treatment, and diagnosis of stroke and heart infections. In partnerships with other healthcare organizations and state leaders, AHA works to promote healthcare solutions in a variety of measures. The association mainly focuses on monitoring the opportunities in the healthcare reforms at the implementation stage as part of the affordable care and patient protection act. Organization’s impact on the issue The American Hospital Association’s public policy advocacy agendas intend to continue to optimally influence the public policy settings for communities, patients, and the healthcare areas (DeJarnett et al., 2018). The organization’s efforts and works in partnership with state, national health organizations, regional, state, and metropolitan healthcare associations in developing and implementing an advocacy plan that fulfills its focus. The organization is committed to safeguarding patients from medical bills, which results from unanticipated gaps in their medical emergencies and insurance coverage without reducing to in-network healthcare setting services for in-network patients via rate setting and other mechanisms. The organization

Also, it aims to provide support public policies that take essential steps in addressing the mal-distribution of the healthcare providers and expansions of the healthcare staff in the underserved and rural communities. Conclusion In conclusion, this paper has given insight into the activities of the American Heart Association in response to cardiovascular disease issues. The paper addresses each of the subheadings through a detailed analysis of ways the organization is committed to addressing the issue. The knowledge from the text can be used to understand and come up with ideas on how the structure of AHA can be modified to progressively and effectively address the cardiovascular disease issue.
