5-2 Journal: Knowing the Key Stakeholders for the Final Project
First of all I would like to develop a rapport, I will try to gain BTC’s trust and explain to them the importance of how transportation for clients with disabilities. If this doesn’t work for Mary she could way her options on taking on new transportations through other companies, for example Wheel Chair Shuttle, Uber, Star+ Plus (Health and Human Services), and Advance Mobility non-emergency that offer disabilities services. The four will take people to non-emergency medical and mental health appointments, as well as shopping and trips. The majority of the cars will be handicapped accessible, and wheelchairs will
be available as needed. These services take payments from individuals, private insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid. Certain insurance companies may require prior approval to accept coverage for transportation that will meet my client's mobility needs, such as the Star +Plus with Health and Human Services Medicaid health-care and long-term services and supports through a health plan of their choosing.
The reason for the necessity for these kind of services for disabled individuals is because people like Mary have very little aid in trying to get reliable help from BTC transportation and family members who will offer it, but she has to wait hours at a time for BTC transportation to pick her up. This is why, as a counselor, I am available to assist Mary and other disability and mental health patients with any form of resource through BTC Transportation, Wheel Chair Shutter, Uber, Start + Plus, and Advance Mobility non-emergency.
