PART 1: Nutrition Assessment | 8 points
INTRODUCTION As part of Module 5
, you completed a nutrition assessment that included a food journal. INSTRUCTIONS Based on what you learned from that experience, answer the following: 1.
Did you eat food you enjoyed during your journaling period? What foods and recipes did you enjoy? Yes, I ate foods I enjoyed. I had sushi and pizza most days. 2.
Was there variety in your food choices over the journaling period? Explain, using examples. I am a very habitual person, so there was not much variety in my food choices 3.
Did you notice that your eating differed with reduced or increased sleep/relaxation? Explain in detail the differences for each, using examples. When I slept longer, I ate less. If I relaxed more, I ate more. I cannot eat while I am asleep, and I seemed to eat while relaxing because I was bored 4.
Did you notice that your eating differed with reduced or increased exercise and movement? Explain the differences for each, using examples. If I exercised more, I was hungry more often. Burning calories while working out caused my body to require more calories to sustain it 5.
Did you notice that your eating differed with reduced or increased stress? Explain the differences for each, using examples. When I was stressed out about school or work, I found myself not eating because I was preoccupied with eliminating the stress. 6.
Did you notice that your eating differed with reduced or increased social interaction? Explain the differences for each, using examples. When hanging out with friends, we tend to make food as a way to hang out, so that leads to increased consumption of food.
Module 5: My Health, My Impact Project Page 2 of 6 7.
Based on the review of your journaling period, are you satisfied with your dietary behaviors? Explain why or why not. I am not satisfied with my eating behaviors. I wish I ate more well-rounded meals and less junk food. 8.
Based on the review of your journaling period, do you plan to make any changes to your diet? What specific changes will you make, and why? I did not make any changes to my diet because I wanted to capture what I would eat in a normal day so I could see exactly where I could improve. Part 2 continues on the following page
