Nestle has increased the prices of their products above the 2022
sales guidance report. The increase in prices was because of the
rising inflation that has increased the prices of all business inputs. The company has stated that it expects organic sales growth of 8.5% in October and 7% in July (Shields & Naidu, 2022). The organic growth will cut out the impact of any currency movements and costs of acquisitions. The company is focused on acquiring a peanut allergy treatment plant in Palforzia. Despite these slow growth margins, the company has assured the investors that they will continue with their plan to increase dividends year on year.

There has been a significant increase in the company products by 9.8% due to cost inflation. The author indicates that Nestle has reported higher sales revenue however there is a fall of 0.5% in volume (Reid, 2023). This has occurred in spite of the growth in other sectors of the business such as pet care, confectionery, and coffee. This has occurred because consumers are struggling to deal with the higher prices of food and other basic commodities. Higher prices in food are caused by extraordinary input cost pressure. This has affected areas like agriculture, energy, logistics and transport (Feldkircher & Siklos, 2019). Most firms have been accused of increasing prices above the cost increases which has spurred greedflation. Nestle however has reaffirmed the 2023 price guidance that will
enable them to earn 6-7% organic sales growth. https://www.cnbc.com/

During the year 2022 Nestle reported a significant increase in their sales from 85.9 billion francs to 94.4 billion francs. However, the net profit dropped by 9.27 billion francs (Mark, 2023). The loss in net revenue was caused by the increase in the
price of raw materials and other operational expenses. In order to resolve the losses the company has planned to increase prices
of their commodities in 2023. The price adjustments are to vary
depending on the level of inflation in certain markets. dropping in the net profit highly affected the shareholders who were expecting to receive dividends. However, the company has assured these investors that their dividends will be increased in the coming years after the company compensates for the losses. https://finance.yahoo.com/

Return on Equity is an important tool in the measurement of company performance. It enables the evaluation of returns that the shareholders received relative to their investment capital. Return on Equity for Nestle is 22% based on the last 12 months since the company has generated 9.6 billion francs in profit. The average return on equity for companies in that industry is
13%(Bowman, 2023). Therefore Nestle is outperforming other companies in the industry and will give investors higher returns. However, Nestle has a high amount of debt with a debt-
to-equity ratio of 1.20. The investors should buy the company shares but consider changes in the credit markets which may affect profitability.

Nestle is a company that has been paying investors dividends for a long time. The company has only cut dividends once in the last 10 years since 2013. The dividends in the Malaysian subsidiary have gone from MYR 2.62 (Richard, 2023). However, the author notes that the company is not making enough in 2023 to be able to pay the investors. This trend will cause a strain on the company's balance sheet. It is becoming hard for the company to maintain its dividend income if the company earnings are not consistent. The company may be paying the dividends from debt acquired to sustain operations which may lead to long-term losses for the business (Singh et al., 2021). https://finance.yahoo.com/

Nestle's share price has improved by 51% for the last five years which is above the market average of 14%. The company's share price improvement has also been reflected in the growth in earnings per share where they have increased the dividends to the shareholders. Nestle has grown its earnings per share at 8.5% a year. However, in 2022 the Nestle investors have had a tough year with a loss of 0.8% against a market gain of 4.3% (Jenny, 2023). Recent investors are facing losses however the long-term investors have been making 11% return each year. Therefore they will not have any loss if they sell off the company shares. https://www.reuters.com/

Nestle has upgraded their operations through acquisitions of Brazil chocolate makers. Acquisition of the chocolate maker will enable Nestle to acquire raw materials at a lower cost enabling them to maximize profits. Nestle will pay $602 million for the company. After acquisition, the Nestle confectionary sales will be increased by 10.8%. the acquisition will improve the Brazil chocolate maker operating profit by 14.5% (Revill, 2023). The acquisition will benefit both companies to improve sales and market position. Acquisition will broaden and strengthen the confectionary presence in Brazil (Kumari, 2021). This will enable Nestle to enter the high end segment. Nestle's acquisition of this chocolate business will
enable the integration of production and an increase in synergies. https://www.reuters.com/

The author highlights that Nestle in France is facing regulation issues after they refused to comply with the cut prices. France's
finance minister has stuck a deal with food retailers in an effort

to fight against inflation. Nestle was highlighted as one of the companies that was not cooperating with the agreement. The representative had 75 big retailers who had committed to cut prices on 5,000 everyday products (Thomas & Naidu, 2023). The minister has given a warning to Nestle to comply with the France government agreement.
