ADHD Medications-A Positive Treatment Parents and adults must understand that if ADHD is not addressed, many worse things can occur than if their children are given medication. Not just the child, but also their family and everyone around them, will be affected. While taking medicines to help children may not seem like a good idea, failing to treat them in the most efficient way could end up hurting them considerably more. Children with ADHD may act out against their parents and struggle in school if they are not medicated. Parents should examine which drugs have the fewest negative side effects and choose the one that is best for their child. Despite the risks of ADHD medication, it remains the best treatment option for children and adults who need to control their behavior due to social circumstances, school, or relationships. Due of social conditions, ADHD medication is the greatest type of treatment for a child. Children may find it challenging to form bonds with family members, friends, and strangers. As a result, most children with ADHD are aggressive and hyperactive and “…often unpopular and lack reciprocal friendships.” (Tamm, Epstein, & Becker, 2018) Some, on the other hand, exhibit "...slow behaviors and may be prone to anxiety, shyness, and withdrawal..." yet nevertheless suffer from poor social skills (Tamm, Epstein, & Becker, 2018). Medications can help a children think more clearly and manage his or her conduct in social circumstances involving other kids. Because friendships are important at particular points in a person's life, ADHD treatment can help children build new relationships through improving communication. They require social skills not just as children and teenagers, but also as adults who must find work. Children require medications and other therapies to develop, survive, and operate properly in the modern environment. ADHD medication is the finest kind of treatment for a child because of their schooling. Victor B. Stolberg writes about Anthony, a boy who has ADHD and difficulties in school. He barely made it through kindergarten because he was continually traveling, and "...he always felt like an impostor at school." (ADHD Medications: History, Science, and Issues, Victor B. Stolberg, 2017, p. 5) ADHD drugs

can have a variety of adverse effects, some of which are more severe than others. Many children with ADHD struggle to focus and learn appropriately. Many parents are opposed to giving their children medicine because they are concerned about the long-term repercussions. However, failing to treat ADHD might have far greater consequences than a minor side effect that would fade over time. According to Harvard, some of the potential side effects that have adults, particularly parents, concerned about ADHD drugs are not as serious as they anticipated. According to the researchers, children with the disease are not more likely to experience one of the medication's adverse effects since "...the rate of sudden cardiac death in the survey was much lower than the average among children of the same age in the general population." (Harvard Health Publishing, 2006, "ADHD update: New data on the risks of medication”) They also concluded that "...new findings do not seriously challenge the consensus that most people who are properly diagnosed with ADHD will decide that the benefits of stimulant medications outweigh the risks." (Harvard Health Publishing, 2006, "ADD update: New data on the risks of medication") It's from an old article, but the website is still operating, and other websites have expressed similar views. While the things that kids may have to undergo in order to behave properly might be annoying, they are all manageable and have even been shown to wear off after the drug wears off. Parents are willing to risk these reactions since the consequences of not treating ADHD can be disastrous. Children who believe they don't fit in at school are more likely to try suicide or become depressed. “During months when people were taking medication, the risk of suicide attempts was 31 percent lower across the whole group.” (Grant H. Brenner, 2020, “Can ADHD Medication Prevent Suicide?”) While medicine cannot treat depression or suicidal thoughts, it can considerably enhance an adult's or child's ability to navigate through their daily routine, alleviating discomfort. ADHD medication is the finest kind of treatment for a child because of their relationships. People with ADHD struggle to connect with others and bear the weight of controlling their disease. Russell A. Barkley, 2014, p. 201) ADHD is a challenging condition to live with and can be difficult for others to tolerate, which is why medication can be so helpful. Medications for ADHD can temporarily reduce symptoms, making it simpler for others and the individual with the illness to live with. Anyone might downplay the importance of a prescription for someone with an ADHD issue, but there is no denying that drugs can benefit children and adults socially and in their daily lives. In conclusion, despite the potential risks of ADHD medication, it remains the best treatment option for children and adults who need to control their behavior due to school, relationships, or social circumstances. Medicines contain side effects, which children and adults must consider if they wish to achieve beneficial outcomes. As their children turn into adults, parents must consider their children's future and growth process. Medication can help make everyone's life better and simpler, so their children and themselves don't suffer. Parents of children with ADHD should think about it carefully since the impact of ADHD on a child's future can be devastating, whilst the benefits of medication can improve their life.
